Finished Friday: Waves of Lace Shawl
Life surely gets busy but I’ve found some time to still squeeze some knitting in.
I’ve been attempting to use up my stash before purchasing more yarn and so that’s been tricky because I’ve got a lot of single skeins!
Well, the perfect project recently came along for the one Bernat Soft Boucle in the colorway of Natural skein that I had!
The pattern I knit up in less than a weeks time is the Waves of Lace loom knit pattern by Lisa Sawyer.
This design has a quite elegant stitch pattern that seems to look lovely in many different types and weights of yarn.
I haven’t blocked my shawl yet because of not having the proper tools ( Blocking tools are on their way from Knitpicks as I write this!)
but I still think the lacy pattern looks lovely. I knit my shawl on the 41 peg yellow Knifty Knitter loom to about 65″ inches in length before casting off.
My daughter Melody has requested a shawl just like mine. I have a bit of yarn left in this colorway from a previous project and I believe that it’ll be just enough.
I plan on knitting hers exactly like mine but I’ll add a button closure in the front to keep her shawl in place when she wears it.
This is most certainly a pattern I will knit up again as it’s very versatile depending on the yarn you use.
The pattern of stitches would even look lovely if knitted into a scarf of any kind as well as a light weight poncho!
