Celebrate Halloween with 14 stories perfect for early and pre-readers! Encourage creativity and music appreciation with the classic sing-along Dem Bones, learn about Latin American holidays with The Day of the Dead, and delight in the not-so-scary stories of Teeny-Tiny and the Witch-Woman.
This is definitely a collection you’ll want to make sure to invest in whether for at home, school, or to use at a library. The age this collection is geared toward children 3-9 years old. My daughter age 5 and my son whom is nearly 3 quite enjoyed every story to be found on this collection sitting through them all from start to finish.
I am a homeschooling mother and I use DVD’s from the Scholastic Storybook Treasures Collection all the time. I appreciate the well put together offerings and the bonus features are are always very inspiring. In this collection, I found that the Day of the Dead story was a great way to teach children about cultures perhaps different from their own. I appreciate the fun stories as well as the informative and educational ones.
My daughter & son liked many of the stories but were most interested in Kitten’s First Full Moon, Fletcher and the Falling Leaves, & The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything. The stories each came alive through imagery and were perfectly narrated if I do say so. There is quite an impact left when my kids say they want to watch them again and again. We’ll be enjoying this collection not just around Halloween ( stories weren’t too spooky) but for the entire Autumn season. Scholastic Storybook Treasures has done nothing but wow me again and again with their fantastic DVD offerings.
