Lovinah Naturals was kinda enough to send along three full size products in exchange for the my honest thoughts on them. The three products sent along were the Shea Rose Vanilla Lotion, Shea Lavender Cream, and the Shea Lavender Wash. Each and everyone of the products they offer are free from parabens, mineral oil, sodium lauryl, sulphate, dye, fragrance, silicones or any harmful ingredients. There are absolutely no chemicals or artificial preservatives and all of their products are manufactured in an FDA registered laboratory and throughly tested ( they do not test on animals).
Shea Rose Vanilla Lotion: This product I like quite a bit! Rose has become one my new favorite scents to purchase in beauty products. I think the combination of rose and vanilla in this product is perfect. I found after applying the lotion it absorbed quickly into my skin and didn’t leave it greasy at all. My hands often get it over worked and dried out due to dish washing and constant knitting so I welcome that this lotion has been quite effective in making them soft and subtle again!
Shea Lavender Cream: Okay this product, didn’t go over well with me. I liked the smell, didn’t feel it was over powering. And like the lotion, it also applies and saturates into the skin well. But for me if this is applied to my face, it burns really badly. I think I may have a strong lavender sensitivity. Others may be able to permit it but it’s not for me. Note that the care labels on each of the bottles note that if redness or rash occur to stop using the product.
Shea Lavender Wash: This wash lathers well and smell nice. I didn’t have any issues washing with it even though I am pretty sure the lavender in the cream I mentioned did. Maybe because it doesn’t stay on the skin as long while I’m bathing in the shower. I also didn’t wash my face with this either as I had applied the cream to my face shortly after bathing. I’m not sure why the issue with the cream and not to the wash. The wash is very nice and soothing. I’d recommend it as a great natural body wash but would urge you to test any product on a small part of your skin instead of applying all over just in cause you have an unknown sensitivity too.
