About the Film: From Academy Award-nominated writer/director Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape), and starring Golden Globe® winner Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, Oscar® winner Dianne Wiest and CJ Adams as Timothy Green, comes this highly imaginative story about a happily married couple who can’t wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. Then one stormy night young Timothy shows up on their doorstep. Soon they and the small town in which they live learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts. The story is written by Ahmet Zappa (“American Gangster,” “Changeling”).

I found The Odd Life of Timothy Green to be a very touching movie that helps you remember what really matters in life. I honestly didn’t know what to expect because I missed seeing this one when it hit theaters earlier this year but was thrilled to receive an advanced copy to review with my family. I was not at all unsatisfied with the story. The film totally pulls at the heartstrings invoking viewers with all sorts emotions. I would recommend having a box of tissues at the ready!
The story reminds us of how Children truly are a gift. They bring such joy to home and can challenge us parents though not limited too to grow and learn. Timothy is certainly something special. He without doing much at all changed the life of everyone he was around. The story made me laugh, cry, and hug my kids just a little bit tighter.
This feel good family film is totally worth the see for both children and adults. My 4 1/2 year old daughter was pretty entranced by the story too. I’m not sure if she quite understood everything but I know we’ll be seeing it again in the future.
