Review & Giveaway: Learning Resources: Smart Toss™ Math Sports Game
I’ve learned by watching and observing both my nearly two year old son and four and half year old daughter that they learn best by doing. For example there’s much less frustration in carrying out a physical activity instead of watching it demonstrated or listening to it being explained. I personally learn the same way myself. If you are familiar with learning styles, you’ll know that this is called learning kinesthetically.
If you have a child much like my own, and are on the hunt for tools to help with teaching Math, you’ll want to know about a product I recently was given the opportunity to review through the company Learning Resources. The Smart Toss™ Math Sports Game has been a wonderful way to make learning math fun for both my son and my daughter.
In this beanbag toss set, you’ll see that it works around a sports theme. The sports spotlighted on the colorful child friendly board are baseball, bowling, golf, and basketball. There are 10 canvas bean bags, handy storage pockets inside, an easy-carry handle and an activity guide full of several different ways to play together. The vinyl surface wipes clean so that’s great for outdoor or indoor use. It folds flat to 20”L x 18”H and takes up a minimal amount of space, perfect for any school supplies storage areas.
The activity guide is great if you are looking for suggestion on how to start some games with the Smart Toss Math Sports set but you can also do you own thing. We’ve been doing our own thing working on simple addition and subtraction since my daughter is just 4 1/2. My son whom is almost two really just loves to throw the beanbags in the holes building up his fine motor skills.
Overall, I really like this set because it’s unique. It works great for my children that learn best by doing. The durability is top quality and it’s easy to clean. I like there’s an activity guide and that we are also free to let our imagination take us and make up our own way to play while learning together.
My whole family has enjoyed using this set together and imagine it will get many years of use when learning about addition, subtraction, and multiplication. I would highly recommend this set for any school or home use.
