Review & Giveaway: Letter Box Activity Set

The Letter Box Activity Set by Learning Resources has been a wonderful addition to my home school classroom. Both my four year old daughter and nearly two year old son have greatly benefited in learning ABC’s, letter sounds, and words through this set!

Any parent or teacher knows that it really helps when your children are engaged and interested in the way they are being taught. Each child learns a little differently that’s why I am huge fan of educational sets that are working outside of the box.The Letter Box Activity set is a tool that you can freely customize to work however you need and I just love it for that.

In this set, you’ll find 104 double-sided alphabet cards with real-life photos and 13 double-sided letter cards (plus 8 blanks for whatever you desire to use those for). There’s a helpful activity guide to point you in a direction or two on how you could use this set if you were needing a little inspiration.
The mailbox piece of the set itself has magnets on the back so you can easily place it on a white board or on the fridge. There’s also a handy storage pocket on the reverse side of the mailbox to keep up with all the cards and envelope shaped letter cards. The Letter Activity Set is pretty neat! It’s shaped like a post office box and I just have to state, “How awesome is that?”. I know I love getting mail but when my kids receive mail of any kind it’s just that much more special. And anytime we use this set it’s often a surprise as to what they’ll find in the mail box slot next.
One of the activities I like to do with my four year old is to have her look at pictures and tell me what she sees. Once she’s done that, I have her sound out the letters in the word without looking at the actual word to determine what letter each of the pictures I have given her start with! This is a great game we like to play to help her with her early reading skills since she’s already past letter recognition and phonic sounds. And for my 21 month old, I’ve been doing this also since he already knows what letter is what. He’s also pretty close to knowing all the letter sounds too.
This is set is helping me be creative in how I am aiming to help expand my children’s language art skills. Having a letter of the week has also been going over really well too.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Letter Box Activity Set. The possibilities are endless in how you could use this set! I even see myself probably using it in the years to come to help with spelling exercises and much more. The endless uses, the uniqueness, and durability alone make this product well worth investing in for your home or classroom use.
