Sweet Sara Crewe has everything a little girl could want – a loving family, lots of friends and a closet full of frilly dresses! But when life takes a turn and Sara goes from riches to rags, will she realize that her true worth lies not in what she has, but what’s in her heart? Find out in this inspiring new story from VeggieTales, based on the beloved classic story of “A Little Princess” that reminds kids who they are in God’s eyes by Frances Hodgson Burnett, that has countless movie and book adaptations.
We’ve enjoyed seeing The Penniless Princess by Veggie Tales. If you are familiar with the work of Frances Hodgson Burnett, you’ll be delighted to learn that this new feature is based off his book “The Little Princess”. I’ve seen many different movie versions of this book throughout the years. And was thrilled to learn that Veggies Tales decided to have a go with it to minister to kids and adults.
In this movie, children will learn about looking to God not just in the times when everything is going fine but not to lose faith and hope when things aren’t going well. The character in this tale models being cheerful and behaving like a daughter of God should toward everyone around her. A most important lesson to us all. This story has a very strong and quite serious message but happens to pull it off light heartedly with some silliness like many of the other Veggie Tale movies that are out.
The movie has not only and exceptional story line but many great songs too! I quite enjoyed the fantastic bonus features included too! There’s a discussion section which feel is important and extremely handy resource featuring questions and Bible verses to take to heart. There’s the history of Teddy Bears where even I learned a thing or two and much more to offered and enjoyed with your family!
Overall my entire family enjoyed this one and we highly recommend it for home and church use! You can find
The Penniless Princess on Amazon.com right now for 10.64 and it’s eligible for free shipping! It would make a great movie to gift to the kids in your life right now especially since it’s back to school season and sometimes we know kids need that extra vote in knowing their worth in God.
