DVD Review: Pound Puppies: Homeward Pound

When I was a child, I used to watch the classic Pound Puppy Cartoons weekly! I had a few soft plush pound puppy toys of my very own and almost never missed an episode if I could’ve helped it. I was pretty excited to find out that yet again, one of my favorite 80’s cartoons got a re-do and is now available for our current generation in a great new style!

Thanks to Shout FactoryPound Puppies: Homeward Pound is out now on DVD! This DVD offers five fun filled episodes which include “Homeward Pound”, “My Fair Rebound”, “Quintuplets”, “K-9 Kid”, and “Zoltron”. Total DVD running time is two hours and the DVD even has a special feature that spotlights how to draw one of the characters!

My daughter enjoyed Pound Puppies: Homeward Pound and was quite taken with watching the fun loving dogs find safe loving homes for all the lonely puppies they encountered. There are likable characters with lots of different personalities and cute names such as Lucky, Niblet, Cookie, Squirt, Strudel, and Mr. Nut Nut. I like that throughout each episode, important lessons are learned like working together to get the job done!

I couldn’t help but feel that this collection would be best suited for both boys and girls ages three to eight years old, especially animal lovers! And if you are interested, you can pick up your own copy of Pound Puppies: Homeward Pound on Amazon.com for $11.99!
