3rd Birthday Celebration…

My little girl just turned three years old! She had a great birthday and loved her one of a kind birthday cake! The cake was inspired by this song “Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing on Rainbows“. It’s a cute song and it’s pretty addictive so be warned if you click the link to watch and listen. Melody’s all into fun girly things like unicorns, rainbows, and butterflies… so we knew this cake would reflect her personality perfectly. Many props to the cake decorator for making my daughter’s birthday that much more special. 3rd birthday’s like every single other birthdays only come once so even if we can’t go all out and throw a huge party the least we can do is splurge for a simple yet meaningfully awesome cake. The pictures of my daughter’s reaction to her cake are totally worth a thousand words.

In celebration of being 3, we took Melody to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). This museum is awesome and if you are ever in Portland, Oregon you should go! Melody spent most of her time in the Science Playground. I honestly believe she could have spent all day playing, exploring, and being completely engaged in science. See it’s not only fun but educational. Owen was enjoying scooting around in the ball pit and starting at the fish tank too!

Melody got lots of fun gifts for her birthday. Mommy and Daddy gifted her a Tricycle and lots of arts and craft supplies! Grandma Janet and her aunties on my side of the family gifted her hair accessories a tinker bell costume and a special porcelain figure of a girl holding a cake and the number 3 that which was mine when I was a child. I adore sentimental gifts! Grandma Becky and Grandpa gifted her a fun cloth Paddington Bear count book, Goodnight Oregon board book, fun bath soaps, and a few new clothes. Auntie Megan also gave Melody a few new shirts and a fun necklace to keep Melody stylish. 🙂 Overall perfect gifts for a 3 year old girl and a very enjoyable birthday… the last few for her had been a little crazy…1st birthday she was sick with hay fever, second birthday I was sick with her baby brother so we didn’t do too much… it really was nice to have a smoothly run birthday this year free from catastrophes!
