Bound by Guilt
by C.J. Darlington
Published by Tyndale House
Shuttled between foster homes, Roxi Gold will do anything to fit in. Soon she’s traveling the country stealing rare books from unsuspecting bookstores. Police officer Abby Dawson has seen the worst of society—and not just at work. One fateful night, both their lives are changed forever. One searches for justice, the other finds herself on the run. Will the power of forgiveness set them free?
C.J Darlington has kept me captivated not only once but now for a second time with her latest novel “Bound By Guilt” which ties in with her first book “Thicker Than Blood”. I like that this book is specified as Christian fiction but isn’t over to the top preachy. It all felt so real and I really appreciated that concept.
This novel is packed with so much but not over done in the least bit. I don’t want to give away any spoilers with my review so I’m just going to mention some of the main things you’ll see and be motivated to take away from this story.
As I began reading through this novel, I was led to follow the lives and stories of several characters but mainly was following Roxi Gold, a sixteen year old girl that had an extremely tough life. I enjoyed her journey of discovering who she was and could be. It’s a tale of love, forgiveness, and so much more. I found it the perfect redemption story with a gripping storyline and vivid plot. I give this book 5 stars.
Great job! You kept me turning the pages.
