Makana Candle {review}

April 22nd marks Earth Day this year. So how about celebrating by lighting a Green Candle like the ones made over at Makana Candle Studios?

I am quite picky when it comes to the candles I light in my house. I have good reason to be so finicky because my husband and I are very sensitives to certain smells like those in most candles filled with not natural ingredients and perfumes.

I was sent a lavender candle from the Lulu line, which is just one of three lines you’ll find over at Makana Studios. The Lulu candles have a bunny design on the packaing that represents all things organic, sustainable, and fertile. The bunny in general symbolizes the belief that everyone can nurture and protect the earth and all living things, regardless of the size of your mission or your inner-bunny!

I adore the candle I was sent! The fragrance isn’t overpowering but you can tell it’s there. I especially like to use this candle in the bedroom as it helps set the mood into us slipping into a calming deep sleep.

Makana Candles are handcrafted in Orange County, CA using simple, green ingredients – 100% soy wax, all-natural cotton wicks and phthalate-free fragrances blended with pure essential oils. Each candle is hand-packaged in a container that is recyclable, biodegradable and compostable!

Makana Candle Studios only handcrafts candles made from 100% GMO-free soy wax made from soybeans grown in the USA. The soy wax is certified kosher, FDA-approved and is completely vegan. You can’t possibly get any greener than that!

You can purchase these candles at several locations or you can call them personally to make an order. I’m looking forward to seeing this great candles available in more places in the future.
