By John Avant, Ph.D. / Howard Books

* Many believers dutifully attend church and read the Bible. But do our daily lives reflect what we claim to be—dedicated followers of Jesus? Challenging us to proclaim Christ in everything we do, Avant’s call to action will inspire you to live a life of gratitude, love, and praise as a living witness to God’s glory. 224 pages, softcover from Howard.

My Thoughts…

This book has many great points though I don’t necessarily agree with them all.  I will state that “If God Were Real” has given me a thirst that only God and true movement  of revival within the church can quench.

Author John Avant has done a a good job in addressing the questions about the very existence of God. Yes, most Christians would say that they believe God is real but are they living like He is? I believe the author does a good job in writing this book in a way both Christians and unbelievers can comprehend it.

This book isn’t for the weak at heart, it was written to challenge you in every part of your life.   I can’t thank the author in stressing the concern enough about prayer throughout each chapter.  Prayer is a very important matter that I think is taken way to lightly.  I honestly could go on and on about this book, but I want the reader to take it all in for themselves.

Con: There are some touchy matters in this book like the mention of J.K Rowling, and though I see what he was trying to say, I  will not read or support authors that turn our children toward witchcraft and sorcery.

Final Thoughts: I pray whomever ever decides to read this book will be revolutionized and prayerfully ready for the battle and challenges ahead of them. 3.5 stars from me.
