Fuzzi Bunz One Size Diaper Review
I’ve always had a problem with cloth diapers fitting my daughter properly. You first must know my daughter is almost 13 months and only weighs in at 16.5lbs and she’s 29inches long. So you see my dilemma, if diapers are not custom made they usually don’t fit her right.bv
I recently heard about Fuzzi Bunz eco-friendly one size diapers and was given the opportunity to review one. Let me say I am quite impressed with this diaper! Not only does this diaper fit my daughter but it has exceeded all my expectations. Plus the patterns and bright colors are just too cute.
How it works:
- The waterproof outer barrier keeps wetness contained.
- The soft microfleece inner layer gently touches your baby’s skin, pulling away moisture and keeping your baby rash-free, dry, and comfortable. The micro fleece is made of 100% Polyester and is custom-milled.
- The unique, patented pocket-style opening enables you to customize the absorbency to fit your baby needs. Stuff the pocket with inserts, a pre-fold, or even a hand towel!
- The updated top-stitching circles the top of the diaper and the tabs, providing reinforcement to hold up wash after wash.
- The larger, square tabs hold the diaper in place to prevent sagging and provide better grip during diaper changes.
- The stretchier elastic around the legs provides maximum comfort for baby.
- The leg casings create “mini-gussets” to keep messes contained and leaks at bay.
- The wide-array of color choices makes diapering fun – choose your favorite or match an outfit!
I love the fact that this diaper uses snaps instead of Velcro, I commonly was having a problem with Velcro scratching my daughter sensitive skin and leaving her quite uncomfortable. I don’t have to worry about this diaper snagging other clothing. Also, my daughter hasn’t figured out how to remove this diaper yet either. Velcro has been a small nightmare in the removing and running around the house stark naked stage.
Mydaughter has worn this diaper several times and has not had any leaks at all! Did I mention this diaper takes no time to dry when in the wash. Thumbs up from this mom, due to the fact I don’t have to dry my diapers 2-3 times at one time.
This diaper would be quite large on a baby under 7 pounds (not recommended). Probably between 7-10 pounds, this diaper would be bulky. After 10 pounds, these work great. These go up to 35lbs.
Buy it: At around $18.00 dollars a diaper, these prices may seem steep but know that your child will wear these diapers for a good long time. They are well worth the money. Check them out for yourself at: http://www.fuzzibunz.com/
The best way to clean cloth diapers is to pre-rinse them off in the toilet using a Hand Bathroom Bidet Sprayer. So convenient and if you are trying to help the environment (and your pocket book) you can give it a double whammy by virtually eliminating toilet paper use by using it on yourself also. That is what they were originally created for. I think Dr. Oz on Oprah said it best: “if you had pee or poop on your hand, you wouldn’t wipe it off with paper, would you? You’d wash it off” Available at http://www.bathroomsprayers.com they come in an inexpensive kit and can be installed without a plumber. Now we’re talking green and helping the environment without any pain. One review: http://jonathanandandrea.blogspot.com/2009/04/spray-it-or-scrub-it.html
Hi! I am seriously considering switching my 15 month old to cloth diapers. I am trying to research which diaper to buy. I’ve narrowed it down to BumGenious 3.0 one size fits all and the FuzziBunz one size OR the sized diapers. Can you give me your opinion? How do clothes fit over cloth diapers? Would you try out different types before stocking up on one style or type?
Thanks!
I would recommend trying out different diapers. I bought a whole set off etsy, which I regret now ( 1st time cloth diapering). I would have preferred Fuzzibunz because they are easier to clean, my daughter doesn’t rip them off, and they dry so fast!
My daughter is smaller so the diapers don’t seem so bulky on her and they actually make her clothes fit perfectly.
I purchased my one-size fuzzi bunz on 2/26/09, and by 4/09/09 I was having serious issues. The diapers were LEAKING and LEAVING MARKS. The elastic was starting to stretch in most of my diapers. The elastic was curling up at the ends and coming out of the little storage hole and leaving marks on baby. Additionally, they GAPE AT THE FRONT and are VERY BULKY. I contacted Fuzzi Bunz for the FREE elastic replacement that they advertise they will send to you within warranty (18 months). After almost 2 months of trying to communicate with Ms. Kim Walker and Ms. Karen Theriot, still no elastic replacement. Neither one of them even bothered to respond to my emails after the first month. I finally contacted Ms. Tereson Dupuy (founder and owner) and sent her all of my previous correspondence and told her how disappointed I was in my diapers and the customer service. She did reply that they simply DID NOT HAVE EXTRA REPLACEMENT ELASTIC lying around to send me. She seemed to think that my issues were then “resolved”. When I emailed her back that I was still interested in either replacing my diapers or waiting for elastic replacement when they got some in stock, I RECEIVED NO RESPONSE! So, we have had our one-size diaper for less than 4 months. We have leaks and marks. Fuzzi Bunz has refused to assist me. I still have my receipt and have washed these according to manufacturer’s instructions. To me, there is no excuse for Fuzzi Bunz to not stand behind their product. However, that is exactly what they did- FUZZI BUNZ DID NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR NEW PRODUCT OR ADVERTISING! In summation, my recommendation is DO NOT BUY THESE DIAPERS!
I’m sorry you’ve had such a terrible experience with these diapers. I’ve not had any problems with these diapers since receiving them. There has been no leaking whatsoever and no marks at all.
Those of you who have had a good experience with Fuzzi Bunz…. What do you use to wash your Fuzzi Bunz diapers? I heard that most leak problems come from using the wrongs detergent. I am doing some research and thinking about ordering the OS Fuzzi Bunz!! I naturally want them to last as long as possible 🙂
I use Ecos Laundry detergent which I buy at Costco in bulk.
I also have had leak issues, but mainly due to heavy wetting (not really a faulty product). They fit great on my trim baby (19lbs, 29inches, 14mos) but really don’t hold up during naps. Since she has gotten older, we have to double up her inserts, and can’t use them at night. Otherwise, I really do like them alot, especially the durability of the snap closures (a big problem I have with BumGenius). We did get extra elastics with the diapers, so perhaps someone on DiaperSwappers (or elsewhere) would be willing to trade/sell theirs.
