Read and Share: Stories About Jesus By Gwen Ellis is a wonderful book to share with your children! This book features thirteen well known stories about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ in a simple format that’s easy to understand for young minds but without taking away from the story. I’ve seen a lot of books that simply the stories way too much and am very happy that’s not the case with this book.

The illustrations done by illustrator by Steve Smallman are cheerful and welcoming. I think he portrays a visual to the story being told to the children in a great way.

Each story is presented on a a two page spread, the title is featured followed by scripture reference, and a short write up of the story. I really like that at the end of each story the author includes a question that you can ask your children about the story previously read such as “If you were one of the children who got to meet Jesus, what would you say to Him?”.

I’m loving the fact this a book I can read to both my children ages almost three and about a month old. I welcome the board book format of this book as this is why I can sit and read it to both my kids. I don’t have to worry about my baby boy or my little girl being too rough with the book. No torn pages here!

Overall this a great board book for little ones. This can be incorporated into a weekly devotion for your kids! I highly recommend picking this one up for your toddler & preschooler as it might be to simple for children any older than that!

Over the span of the four years that I’ve been married I’ve read a lot of different marriage books and none I’ve liked quite as much as this one.  Love & Respect hits issues married couples often face head on. When reading through the book you’ll learn about the cycles that tend to tear couples apart like the crazy cycle and learn ways to break them through the energizing cycle. You can read this book alone but I see much more impact coming from it if you take the time to read it together.

I would encourage every married couple to pick up this book. I know personally for my husband and I after going through a lot more of life together are going to start reading this book again this year. It’s a wonderful book to go back to that will continue to strength your marriage for a lifetime.  It will completely change your life and your marriage!

Just by reading through the first few days planned out I’ve noticed that there’s plenty of spiritual food for thought from the introduction, added lessons, application, observation, and inspiration found through out this study Bible  and I am quite enjoying it!

God’s Promises for Women of Faith is a book I will constantly be coming back to. It’s  personally taken up a permanent place  right along side my Bible. How awesome that it’s small enough yet packed full of such big things that it can slip right inside my the outer pocket of my Bible cover!

You’ll find that this little book is packed with many powerful & encouraging scriptures that will bring many blessings and conviction to it’s reader.  This book is broken up into many parts by topics such as those that will encourage us to grow in our faith.  I especially loved the section of the book that features many well known woman of the Bible such as Ruth, Mary, Sarah, Hannah, and more.

This book is perfect for daily scripture readings or if you are looking for a quick reference on many topics such as contentment,  adversity, and resting in Him to name just a few.

At the end of this book their is a section for you to personally add scriptures that stand out to you and a place for prayer request.

I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this book for a friend with no doubt that it would be cherished. I feel this book would make the perfect gift for women from young to old traveling in their own many different walks of life.

After learning about this Bible, I also learned there is a perfect companion the Mom’s Bible, in which I am totally going to look into to purchase for myself. My Thoughts…

Being from the south, I appreciate the JACK DANIEL’S THE SPIRIT OF TENNESSEE COOKBOOK quite a bit. Nothing say southern hospitality like a home cooked meal from the heart. This  book is   full of stories about Lynchburg, TN which is the birth place of Jack Daniel’s Distillery featuring photos that are historic as well as contemporary. I’m proud to say that after reading through this book that I learned more about southern culture being that I was born and partially raised in the deep south myself.

Be warned that this cookbook is not to be read on an empty stomach, I know I was completely hungry and my mouth was about watering as I flipped through the various Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Vegetables, Breads, Entrees, Outdoor Cooking, Desserts, Cakes & Pies, and Accompaniments. I found a biscuit recipe in this book that I’ve been making for my own family for years thanks to my own southern roots!

If you decide to pick up this book, you’ll find as I did  that not all recipes in this book call for Jack Daniels Whiskey. For instance a recipe in this book called “Outside Burgers” which my husband and I threw together contained no alcohol at all. Thrown together, that’s the best phrase I have because most of the recipes you shouldn’t have to look much further than your own pantry to make a delicious foods, that is  minding that you are already cultured and a have a taste for southern foods.

Real people, easy to make meals, and a bit of southern heritage…it’s doesn’t get much better than that. This cookbook would make a wonderful addition to any kitchen and a fantastic gift to give around the Holiday season!
