Portland Timbers Game

I had a first this last weekend. What is it, you ask? Well,I was able to attend my very first Portland Timbers soccer game with my husband. It’s the first soccer game that I’ve ever witnessed aside from those seen on TV. The team is based in Portland, Oregon and competes in Major League Soccer (MLS).
The place where my husband works has a box at the stadium in which they offer their employees free or deeply discounted tickets. My husband and I aren’t that into sports that much but we really enjoyed the soccer game, even though Portland lost to the Vancouver White Caps ( it was a reserve game). The game was slow to start but really picked up the second half. We were also very grateful that the Grandparents watched the kids while we were at the soccer game. And Melody didn’t mind that mommy and daddy were at a soccer game without her on her birthday since she got to spend the day with her Papa and Grandma.
We couldn’t have asked for a better date day. A fun new shared experience at a major league soccer game, weather was overcast but it wasn’t too hot or cold out. We got to visit a top resturant in Portland for dinner that served exquisite seafood called Jake’s Famous Crawfish which is considered one of the top ten seafood restaurants in the nation. Jake’s Famous Crawfish has been a downtown Portland landmark for more than 110 years! Excellent customer service and a wonderful atmosphere. I would highly recommend checking them out if you are in the Portland area.
Seafood Pak Shrimp {review}
I’m so glad my family aren’t picky eaters! My daughter Melody who is almost two years old can be picky sometimes, which is typical for a toddler but she never and do mean never refuses seafood! She takes on my love and Japanese heritage of eating fish and seaweed products.
I was literally in shock after I learned that a national study found that 91% of American children are not eating the recommended amount of seafood.
Seafood has such great benefits! Did you know that Cold water, deep-sea fish are particularly high in omega-3 fatty acids that help protect against many diseases such as cancer, arthritis, high blood pressure, strokes and heart disease? Seafood is great because it’s full of so much protein and many other essential nutrients.
I was given the opportunity to review some great shrimp from a company called SeaPak shrimp Co! I was skeptical at first, I’ve had other easy-to-prepare products seafood products from the frozen section that were more batter than fish and the flavor was really lacking, this was not the case with the butterfly shrimp my family and I had for dinner from SeaPak.
My family and I found these shrimp very juicy and full of rich flavor. It was really hard to believe from our past experiences with frozen seafood! These were so easy to prepare as we preheated the oven, cooked for the directed time, and voila a great seafood dinner without all the hustle and bustle. I tend to prepare my own shrimp but sometimes I am short on time and love that there are great healthy substitutes like this available thanks to the SeaPak shrimp Co.
