Review & Giveaway: Kidorable Ladybug Collection
April showers bring May flowers and that couldn’t ring truer here in Oregon! And what fun is all the rain if you can’t deck your children out in adorable, I meanKidorable rain gear! I’ve had both my daughter and son in Kidorable rain gear practically since they were born and will continue to do so until they are too big to wear it anymore! And what fun because there are so many different styles to choose from for both boys and girls that they can always have something different to look cute and stay dry in every year!

This Spring, my nearly four year old daughter has been sporting the Lady Bug Kidorable rain wear collection. This particular collection offers styles perfect for any child year round featuring not just Spring and Summer light rain wear but knit hats, scarves, and gloves for the fall and winter too! And Kidorable doesn’t stop there, they also have matching book ends for your child’s room, as well as towels, hangers sets, and matching back packs for on the go!
To review and spotlight, we were sent the Lady Bug Raincoat, Hanger, Backpack, and matching rain boots. The colors in this particular collection are a very eye catching pattern of black and a very bold red, perfect for any ladybug lover! Children ages 1 through 6 year olds can wear this set in style through out any rainy season! Trust me, oohs and aahs are sure to follow! There’s nowhere we go that my daughter hasn’t been complimented on her Kidorable rainwear ensemble!

The Ladybug Raincoat is made out of PVC which is very easy to wipe clean and lined with polyester. It has two pockets one a giant ladybug and the other a large black spot that feature zipper closures so your little one can keep perhaps a hanky, hair band, or something else safely tucked away from the elements. There are four snap button from top to bottom and an inner loop at the neck of the coat for easy hanging up after use. The coat pattern itself is all red except on the hood, sleeves, and the buttons which feature darling ladybug spots! The coat my daughter received is a size 4t and is giving enough to accommodate my daughter and whatever she is wearing such as a thin top or a bulky sweater until she needs the next size rain coat! Almost forgot to mention that it came with an adorable matching hanger too!
The Ladybug Boots are perfect for a stroll to the park on a over cast day, helping out in a muddy garden, and my daughter’s favorite rainy day activity….puddle jumping! These boots are excellent in resisting water with the natural rubber exterior. There’s a pull tab featured on the top part of the boot making it easy to slip these boots on. These boots are light weight so it won’t weigh down your children’s feet as they are walking or running. Speaking of running, the non-skid soles improve traction on wet surfaces and are great in preventing accidents. You can easily wipe these clean after a day in the mud! This style of boot is available in My First (size 5), children’s sizes 6-13, plus young adult sizes 1 and 2.

The matching Ladybug Backpack is great for kids of all ages. My daughter loves to carry this bag along with her wherever she goes. It features two front zip close pockets and one large compartment. Right now my daughter likes to store her drink cup, a snack, hairbrush, rubber bands, lip balm, and other various random treasures. The bag would make a great take a long for a trip to Grandma’s house, daycare, preschool, or any other outing where your child would be excited about bringing it along. I like the bag has held up well and that the straps are fully adjustable.
Overall there’s nothing we don’t like about the Ladybug Collection from Kidorable. In fact, we are already looking to purchase the matching umbrella soon. If interested, you can purchase Kidorable products at their website ranging from $11.50-$36.00! I highly recommend the Kidorable Collections not just because of adorable they are but because how durable they are too!

Music Review: I Am Happy with Sukey Molloy
I’m excited to spread the news that Sukey Molloy, recent winner of a NAPPA, Children’s Music Web, Preferred Choice, and Mom’s Choice Awards winner is releasing her third music album on the 24th of April, “I Am Happy”.
Sukey’s latest album “I Am Happy” features 18 fun filled songs that make the CD about 40 minutes long. This album went over great with my children (ages nearly four and fourteen months old). As soon, as the CD started playing, my kids started acting out the movements mentioned in the songs, dancing, and singing along. The songs were pleasantly upbeat and not over the top, I was pleased for the mellowness and I loved seeing how interactive my children became with it.
A few of the songs that I’m a fan of are “The Counting Song”, a song that teaches children how to count to ten in English, Spanish, German, French, and Japanese! “Raindrops” a song that celebrates the rain (
which we see almost everyday in Oregon) and talks about what things to wear when out in the rain, and my daughter’s most favorite activity, puddle jumping!
The songs are catchy in lyrics and in tune. I’ve even found myself humming the songs through out the day! I love that I can see my children not only having fun but learning things in the process! Overall, we highly recommend ”I Am Happy” to parents and educators of children up to the age of five.

Music Review: Two of a Kind, Sing me Your Story
I’m quite pleased to introduce “Two Of A Kind’s” newest CD “Sing Me Your Story”.
“Sing Me Your Story” features a full children’s chorus and many wonderful musicians, including a live band: “The Give ‘em a Hand Band”, as well the artists twin sons. You toes are sure to be tapping as this CD is filled with upbeat songs featuring instruments such as piano/keyboards, trombone, melodica, whistles, didgeridoo, french horn, trombone, & percussion.
There are seventeen songs making “Sing Me Your Story” about an hour long in playtime. I really have been enjoying the tracks found on this CD. The artist mentions that they felt it was important for the lyrics of their songs to be meaningful, fun, sophisticated, smart and thought-provoking, and that the music is varied, full, rich, exciting and high-quality, with interesting musical arrangements and excellent production values. I really do believe they’ve hit that mark.
A few songs I really favor are the songs One World Many Stories, a song that talks about how we all have our own story and how a book can take you there to learn more about them. The Song The World is Not Your Garbage Can teaches children the importance of not littering. And the song called Purple Glasses talks from the point of a view of a child that finds out she needs glasses.
If you are interested, you can have a listen to “Tell Me Your Story” (CLICK HERE), ”The World is Not Your Garbage Can (CLICK HERE) a song about littering, with a special guest “Billy Jonas” on recycled and re-used drums and percussion. I highly recommend checking out
I am sure children and adult will both delight and be inspired by this quality family music.
