Hellmann’s Chicken Challenge

I like I am sure a lot of mom’s out there don’t always have the time to throw together a huge meal every single day of the week. It’s just a little far fetched to even challenge yourself  and stress over it with the busy schedule I know most people have! That’s why I get really excited when I come across recipes that use ingredients I usually have on hand!

Hellmann’s has a challenge going on right now where people can vote weekly on their favorite chicken dishes. These dishes are pretty awesome and I’m planning on cooking up a few for my family! I am a fan that they are really easy to throw together! For example, the Parmesan Crusted Chicken which got my vote only has four ingredients and total prep and cook time is half an hour! Easy, family friendly, delicious, and something brand new to help us mix things up at the dinner table.

If you visit Hellmanns.com, you can see the recipes in the Chicken Challenge , watch a video about each one, and then cast your vote for your favorite. You will also be entered into the sweepstakes for a chance to win one of four $250 grocery gift cards each week! I encourage you to try out a recipe or two, vote, and pass along this great information to someone you know!

Mat Kearney | Young Love {Music Review}

I’m excited to announce that Mat Kearney‘s third album, Young Love, hit stores last week debuting on the #1 spot on iTunes Album and Rock charts and is currently sitting at #5! I will always love this artist and one of those  is that the first gift my husband (boyfriend at the time) gave me was a autographed copy of Mat’s first CD Bullet. I fell in love right away with the rich honest lyrics taken from real life experience. Mat’s sound is so unique with urban acoustic rhythms, & raps. You’ll be pulled to tap your foot with some of his songs and others you’ll deeply find yourself captured in. I found myself quite stirred into emotion by many of the songs!

I asked my husband to share his thoughts on Mat Kearny’s project Young Love because he’s been a fan much longer than I have been. Here are his thoughts…

I heard Mat Kearney before Mat Kearney was cool. I was at a concert that my sister wanted me to go (she knew the opening band.) I listened to them, was OK, then a guy with a guitar came up, and I was zoning out, but then my brain registered that something amazing was entering my ears. It was Mat Kearney, acoustic. Fantastic! After the show, I decided to buy a CD. Then I thought that was a ridiculous notion. Only one? I bought five! When Mat came to the merchandise area, he turned and saw me there with the stack. You’d have think he just won a million and a half bucks. I gave my friends (and now wife) copies of the CD.

His music now is even better, but of the same roots, and the music I heard that day. ‘Young Love’ hits the mark. It keeps to a theme, and the songs all have a similar sound, but are different from each other, making them all distinct. The last track, ‘Rochester’, breaks from the theme of the rest of the album, but it is a very nice ending to the album. It’s easily one of my favorite songs.
One thing I like about Mat is his choice or words. It’s a blend of the mundane and the poetic that paints a visual picture of real life.

It’s top quality.

I would highly recommend Young Love! You just may discover and new favorite artist in Mat Kearny!

Yanni -Truth of Touch {music review}

I feel the older I get the more refined my music taste has become. Years ago I probably wouldn’t have picked up a Yanni CD. Little did I know how much I missing out on. Yanni’s latest CD “Truth of Touch” has been filling my inner soul with rich melodic music wrapped in a such a beautiful complexity of  rhythms.

A little more about Truth of Touch is that it’s Yanni’s first instrumental release of original compositions in over eight years and is a return to the genre Yanni helped create and advance.

There are fifteen tracks in total on this project and oh how hard it was to pick out my favorites though I have. I am really enjoying Voyage &   Mist of a Kiss the most.

Truth of Touch has been a great mood lifter & stress reliever!  I don’t like a whole ton of quiet in my home so if the kids aren’t making noise and even if they are, I like to have music of some kind playing and this album is the perfect background music to play throughout the day.
