I’m quite impressed with the love and care  that Melissa the mom and creator behind Honeybee Holistics has poured into the products she’s created. Visually I was drawn to her store and with my high standards in only using the best products for myself, my family, and the environment I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed.

Honeybee Holistics offers many wonderful skin care products each being handmade such as soaps, lotions, massage oils, teas, and much more. All products are 100% free of  harmful parabens, petroleum derivatives, and chemicals. Melissa even uses wild-harvested herbs or herbs that she grows on site!

Melissa was more than willing to answer my Etsy Meet and Greet questions! I enjoyed getting to know her and was pretty thrilled to be supporting a stay at home mother whom also plans on homeschooling her children like myself! Read on…

1.Why did you decide to start doing this on Etsy and how long have you been?

~~ I chose to start selling on Etsy because I felt so at home selling my handmade goods with other artists who handmake their wares. I needed another way to get the word out about my business and my website I built www.honeybeeholistics.com I have been with Etsy for 1 year now.

2. What do you enjoy the most when creating your products?

~~I enjoy the meditative properties of stirring my newest creation, or the excitement I feel when my newest creation turns out like I want it!! Plus the opportunities I have to help heal others with my herbs and spirit that I put into every product!

3. Apart from creating things, what do you do?

~~I am a Stay-at-home Mom to my beautiful baby girl Aria who has just turned 11 months! She is the reason I do what I do so I can continue to stay home with her as she grows. I plan to homeschool as well so it gives me the perfect opportunity to be the one who influences her life the most.

4. What inspires you?

~~My daughter, my herbs, my husband, my love for all things natural! It just feels good to be helping others through my products. Some people ask, “Why make soap & lotion when everyone does?” I say to them, “Everyone might make products similar to mine, but NO ONE makes products with my spirit in it because I am the only one who can do that!”

5.In five years you’d like to be…?

~~I would like to have my business established well enough that I can offer jobs to some other stay-at-home Moms in my local community so they can make a way for their children too!

My Thoughts…

I was sent three products from Honeybee Holistics to review. The Organic Baby Ease Massage Oil from the Mama Baby line, Organic Calendula Lotion from the Herbal lotion line, and from the Herbal soap line the Organic Sugar Cookie Soap made with Real Tahitian Vanilla Beans!

The Organic Baby Ease Massage Oil from the Mama Baby line: My baby loves taking a bath and so much so that when bath time is over he gets extremely upset about it. So as much fun as bath time is after hasn’t been all that fun to handle until I tried something new following his bath times! After his bath, I started giving him a baby massage thanks to the Organic Baby Ease oil from Honey Bee Holistics. The included how to give your baby a massage pamphlet  has been super helpful in knowing exaclty what to do and how to do it!

The Baby Ease massage oil is deep penetrating and absorbs fantastically into the skin. It really does help calm a fussy baby! This oils smells great with its added Calendula & Chamomile! It’s 6.00 for 1 ounce but very little goes a long way. I love this product as it’s made my life and my sons a lot easier!

Organic Calendula Lotion from the Herbal lotion line: A great smelling lotion to use on anyone in the family. I love that this lotion comes in a convenient pump bottle. The lotion is light, creamy, and easily can be rubbed into and absorbs well leaving skin with no icky residue behind! Ideal for healing irritated/extremely dry skin (ex. psoriasis/eczema sufferers) especially during wintertime.  I’ve used this on my 3 month old babies dry forehead and where he commonly has some dry skin spots and it was better the next day!

Organic Sugar Cookie Soap: This soap smells so good that you’ll want to eat it and though the ingredients are all natural, I wouldn’t recommend it! I love the smell of vanilla and was beyond thrilled to find out that the scent comes from Organic Vanilla Essential oil & Real Organic Tahitian Vanilla Bean flecks. The Organic Tahitian Vanilla Beans were hand scraped from their pods and added to the moisturizing soap that contains Organic Fair Trade Shea Butter. These flecks impart a very light vanilla fragrance that is not overpowering at all. Each bar is topped with Organic Raw Sugar swirled throughout the tops!

I love this particular soap and have now found my new favorite place to purchase Organic soaps! I love that each of the soaps have special healing properties!

I was sent Sunny Days SPF 30+ Face Stick, Happy Face & Body Lotion, &  Helping Hand Wash to review for my daughter. I was pretty excited because I am always looking for great new naturally safe skin and body care products for myself and my children.

Let’s start with the Happy Face & Body Lotion. This lotion smells divine with hints of chamomile and lavender! It’s works well absorbing quickly into the skin and has left my daughter and my own hands and face feeling soft and smooth! I also like that there’s a pump top and that I can lock and unlock it as needed.

The Helping Hand Wash is a great way to teach kids all about personal hygiene and my daughter is loving the fact that this soap is all hers! The directions I found pretty cute as they inform your child to wash their hands for at least twenty seconds or as long as a it takes to sing their ABC’s slowly! This soap smell as equally as good as the lotion we reviewed. I detected a sweet smell of grapefruit! It’s not often I find organically natural products that smell good enough to eat!

We were also sent the Sunny Days SPF 30+ Face Stick. I haven’t got to try this one out yet as it’s still pretty early in the year here in Oregon to actually see the sunshine. I did learn that this product does not contain vitamin A which can accelerate skin cancer. This product is highly rated for safety on SkinDeep/EWG/Cosmetic Database. It’s water resistant, easy to apply, and non-greasy. It’s truly all natural as this mineral-based sunscreen protects from both UVA/UVB rays. I honestly can’t wait to use it. I’m glad it’s an easy stick format as I know how messy using sun lotion with wiggly giggly kids can be!

Overall we’d recommend TruKid and have been very happy with the results we’ve been getting! These products are available on their website for purchase as well as  Trukid at Amazon.com.
