Have you heard about Unreal Candy?
Have you heard about Unreal candy? I hadn’t until just recently but I must say I’m pretty impressed with all the benefits it claims to have. There are no GMOs, partially hydrogenated oils, corn syrups, artificial flavors, colorings, or preservatives. Sugar content has also been reduced by over 40% per saving on average. Also, all the ingredient are said to be responsibly sourced.
I was sent a coupon to try one of the five candies they apparently have available for purchase. The candy we opted to try out was the UN54 (compareable to Peanut M&M’s). We found the candy to taste quite different but it was not lacking in flavor. Both my kids really enjoyed splitting up the bag of candy at their snack time.
As a mom, I’m always looking for healthy alternatives to snacks for my kids and this company has hit the nail straight on the head. A good healthy snack without all the sugar and other un-needed additives. A total win! We are totally looking forward to trying the other offerings of this brand soon!
If you are looking to get your family unjunked this Halloween season ( but not limited too!), now you can with Unreal Candy which can be given as treats or used in seasonal recipes!

DVD Review & Giveaway: Vampire Dog
JUST IN TIME FOR HALLOWEEN COMES A NEW LIVE-ACTION FAMILY FILM IN THE TRADITION OF DISNEY’S SPOOKY BUDDIES THAT’S ALL BARK AND NO BITE!
Vampire Dog is a movie that I got the privilege to view before it hit the streets last week to spotlight as the Halloween season approached. Before you run for the hills and decide that you probably don’t want to know about a movie featuring a talking vampire dog, hear me out! This movie surprised both my husband and I who typically find that talking animal movies leave us a little perturbed, found this one to be well worth watching during family movie night with the kids!
Dove Foundation family-approved, Vampire Dog is a movie about a boy that is given a dog by his recently passing Grandfather. Little does the main character Ace know that this dog is a Vampire Dog. And this is not your ordinary vampire, this dog has a taste not for blood but red jelly! I really enjoyed the scientific reasoning behind that one which was explained in a pretty acceptable and believable way. Doe this movie have silly antics? Yes! Goofy Humor? Of course. Incredible twist and surprises? Not really but that’s okay, not every movie has to be super gripping.
Through all the silliness there’s a plot that teaches kids the importance of friendship and courage. Kids will also learn about acceptance, being themselves, and of moving on. Total movie runtime is 91 minutes. And the movie is mainly geared toward the pre-teen crowd though both my 4 year old and nearly two year enjoyed watching the talking dog.

Review: R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series, Volume 1 & 2
As a kid, I enjoyed watching spooky shows like Are You Afraid of the Dark and R.L Stine’s Goosebumps as well as reading the books! I was thrilled to find out about R.L Stines The Haunting Hour hitting DVD during this month. After getting my hands on a copy and viewing, I’ll have to admit that this show falls nothing short of offering quality thrills and chills for kids and those who are kids at heart.
I can’t peg an age specific to how old a child should be to view these though I heard it was generally geared to kids ages 10 and up. Every kid is different. I did watch the a couple of episodes with my daughter and she didn’t seem freaked out at all by it. She’s watched Dr. Who with us and I would deem that it’s a bit more scary and intense at times. I’ll let you the parent decide if it’s okay or not for your kids and would recommend watching it first to see.
Each of the DVDs, The Haunting Hour Volume 1 & 2 are approximately 140 minutes long offering five episodes each. There are also bonus features which include “A Look Behind the Screams” and original promos for the show that originally aired on it’s TV home, The Hub.
These would be something to totally nab to add to your collection, especially with Halloween right around the corner! I found the stories exciting and the acting top notch! Overall, either volume would be great for a overnight sleep over party or just a family movie night! I totally recommend them if you like spooky stories!
Buy it: R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour are both available in widescreen format. Rating is TV-PG. You can find Volume 1 & Volume 2 at Amazon.com for less than 13.00 each.
