I know I’ve said it before about a previous Lucky Diaz CD that I’ve reviewed on my blog but the songs found on Potluck are also just as refreshingly catchy and cunningly creative! The mix of styles you’ll find throughout are those of ska, rock and roll, indie pop, and few others that meld extremely well together.

You’ll find 11 fun songs that mention everything from riding your bike, a lemonade stand, invisible friends,  wondering who stole the cookies from the cookie jar, and many more. My daughter’s favorite song on Potluck right now is “Lines and Dots”.  She has just learned how to do connect the dots in her preschool work so the song couldn’t have been more fun for her to sing and dance along too.

My 16 month old son likes to dance and sing a long to the song Tres Ratones ( familiar mice ). There’s a part of the song that goes “meow meow meow meow” and you can guess how quickly my song picked up on that. So lately he’s been going around meowing at almost everything! It’s cute when the song plays and he bobs back and forth dancing and meowing.

I highly recommend Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band “Potluck” cd. It’s fun, family friendly, and it’s addicting catchy beats will make you eager to listen and on the look out for future albums from this great band!

I like how this title has been put together, for instance, there are 10 sections each with a little over ten true life stories from both mother’s and daughters. Some of the sections you’ll find are Rites of Passage, A Daughter’s Love, and Dreams Fulfilled just to name a few. I found myself deeply touched and many of the stories reminded me of my mother as well as being a mom myself and seeing already what an impact my daughter has had on my life.

Snails, Pails, and Puppy Dog Tails are definitely the things little boys are made out of. My little boy nearly 1 1/2 years old has taught me growing up with my four sisters and no brothers that boys go by some different rules for sure! He loves getting dirty, no the louder the better, he test the integrity of everything he comes across, and if any toy moves like a car or truck it’s a win. I for one am really loving the durability as my son has thrown, stepped on, gnawed (still teething), and put these cars through the ringer so to speak. We’ve let the kids play with these in tub, sand box,in and outdoors and still the cars look as good as brand new!

Overall I’m very pleased with these made in the USA set of vehicles from Green Toys. Honestly, you have to love a product that’s great for the environment being made from 100% recycled plastic milk jugs and that’s completely safe for your kids!
