Matooka Kids Couture {review}

Matooka kids couture offers contemporary, sweet, stylish, cute, modest, and totally fashion forward attire that is sure to please the eyes of girls and parents alike.

Two best friends, both being mom’s of eight daughter between them teamed up together and launched Matooka in 2009 with the mission of creating a line “…that would attract girls with its fun attention to detail, and comfortable fit, but also appeal to parents with its reasonable price-points and quality make.”

We were sent the Let Loose shirt and skirt in hot pink to review. This outfit is made extremely well and it’s very soft and smooth. The outfit is adorable and it’s true to size, fitting my daughter absolutely perfectly! I love this outfit! It fits my daughter’s personality like a glove!

Matooka offers many fashion forward pieces that are sure to delight any little girl. The spring line has so many fun styles and colors that I can hardly wait to see what they will be offering for the Fall 2010 line! Clothing sizes starting at 2t!

Matooka also gives back by donating 10% of all profits to research in infertility and to families undergoing costly assisted reproductive treatments.

Buy It: You can purchase Matooka Kids Couture girl’s clothing from a number of retail locations, including online at Peachandplum.com and Shopbabytrends.com.

You can also find Matooka on Facebook.

Kuki Kids *Dada Dress* review

Kuki Kids was born out of the desire to make bold and funky clothes for little kids. Simple garment designs let the fabrics speak for themselves and let your little adventurer stand out in the crowd. Quality and attention to detail are foremost in the Kuki philosophy.

I was given the opportunity this year to review a Dada Dress from Kuki Kids latest “Happy collection”. This dress is too adorable and absolutely fits my daughters enthusiastic personality like a glove!

The patterns of red, yellow, and hot pink are fun, funky, and vibrant making this dress perfect for a visit to the play ground to a special occasion out like a birthday party or play date!

This dress leaves room for me to pair it with an under shirt as well to create a style of our very own. Tights with or without this dress also add an adorable look.

Right now, my 19 month old has been going through the undressing stage so I’m happy that there are buttons on the back of the dress making it easy for me to put on but hard for her to take off.

I was very impressed with the quality of the Dada Dress as it’s made from 100% cotton canvas in which makes the dress quite thick, able to take the normal roughness of everyday wear and tear.  It is also fully lined making it comfortable against my daughter skin. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to purchase several more items from Kuki Kids!

Kuki Kids offers many styles of clothing for kids, like pajamas, bibs, blankets, hats, hair accessories, and more for both boys and girls from ages 6 months to 6 years old. They are definitely worth a look if you are thinking about purchasing one of a kind  Spring attire for 2010 that will really stick out!

Disclaimer: I was sent a Dada Dress for review from Kuki Kids. This review is 100% my opinion and has not been edited or reviewed by anyone. I was not compensated in any other way for this product review.

Raising a Modern-Day Princess: Inspiring Purpose, Value, and Strength in Your Daughter By: Pam Farrel, Doreen Hanna

975743: Raising a Modern-Day Princess: Inspiring Purpose, Value, and Strength in Your DaughterRaising a Modern-Day Princess: Inspiring Purpose, Value, and Strength in Your Daughter

By Pam Farrel & Doreen Hanna / Tyndale House

Help your daughter journey into womanhood with a healthy self-image and knowledge of who she is in Christ! Writing from their personal experiences, co-authors Farrel and Hanna stress the importance of creating a rite-of-passage ceremony for your young woman; provide helpful tips in chapter-end “Mentor Moment

My Thoughts…

The book Raising a Modern-Day Princess by authors Pam Farrel and Doreen Hanna has  moved me and it’s entirely changed my way of thinking in how to raise my own daughter as well as taught me how to influence the young woman around me.

Grace, dignity, inner beauty, and self worth, traits every daughter of the King should have instilled into her life. Often enough no one is taking the time to celebrate daughter’s journey into becoming the woman God has created them to be. It’s not hard at at all to do this, in fact Raising a Modern-Day Princess suggest many types of rite of passage celebrations both big and small that can change and impact a girls life forever. The examples of personal testimony of mothers, fathers,  and daughters that took part in this are ever so moving.

Not often is it that a book speaks such revelations that tugged at my heart strings and left me in tears. I encourage every sister as well as brothers  in Christ to pick up this book and read it.

I promise you, if you take the advice of this book, whom ever God has laid on your heart will feel purpose, value, and strength in moving forward and following the path God has laid in front of them.

This book is on the top favorite reads for 2010 and ten for me, and I am quite honored and blessed by those that contributed in writing these words of truth. If I could, I would personally give everyone I know a copy of  Raising a Modern-Day Princess.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

***Special thanks to Christy Wong of Tyndale House Publishers for sending me a review copy.***

Esty:Beyond Quilts – Scoodie

Carolyn, an aspiring Etsy store owner from Beyond Quilts has continued to wow me with her fantastic and functional products for both the young and the young at heart. If you missed my previous review on her adorable children’s and doll quilts, I encourage you to check it out by visiting the following link: http://connected2christ.com/theblog/2009/09/etsy-beyond-quilts-review-and-giveaway/

As of recently, I was given the chance to review one of Beyond Quilts latest creations called a Scoodie! This creation is muti- functional as it’s not only a scarf but a hat as well…hence the name Scoodie. The colorful blue Scoodie I was sent to review is covered in adorable owls and is made from fleece which keeps it’s wearer  both snug, comfortable and warm during the cold winter months.

I love my Scoodie because not only can  I wear it, but my daughter can as well, all I had to do was  fold it back!  It’s perfect if for unexpected weather on the fly as I’ve been caught plenty of times without an umbrella or a snug warm hat!

Overall, the Scoodie makes for a fun, eye appealing, fashionable and functional must have item! Another thing that’d I like to add is that the Scoodie it ships absolutely free making it a great deal at only $10.00.

Do check out Beyond Quilts as Caroyln offers a variety of beautiful quilts, as well as other handcrafted products for people and pets at her store for very affordable prices! If you’d like to keep up with all the latest from Carolyn, I encourage you to visit and subscribe to her blog.

Holiday Gift Guide: My Princess Academy Review and Giveaway

princess_1
PrincessGenerosity, Intelligence, Beauty, and Confidence are character traits that should be instilled into every little girl. These four very important traits also known as the four pillars of princess hood which are highly encouraged to learn by My Princess Academy.

My Thoughts…

If you visit My Princess Academy, you’ll find many enjoyable interactive games and activities which build skills in the four pillars before mentioned. As your child goes through each level/game, she will gain points to use in the My Princess Academy Shop. Know that this site is geared toward ages of girls three and up though my 18 month old daughter enjoyed watching mommy explore it.

My daughter is definitely our little princess, so I was really thrilled when I saw how affordable the products in the princess academy store were. You’ll find  the store  is filled with dresses, tiaras, wands and boas and more!

My daughter and I were given the chance to review the princess pettiskirt thanks to My Princess Academy! Oh my goodness gracious, it’s adorable! As soon as I received it in the mail, I put it on my daughter right away! She felt pretty special I could tell, and had fun spinning in circles with it on and giggling ever so sweetly.
is.aspxThe pettiskirt is Lilac and Teal Trimmed in color, made of yards of fluffy soft polyester chiffon, a gathered satin elastic waistband and tied with a deluxe satin ribbon. It even comes with its own hanger! Our hanger read explains about the character trait of patience and reads… patience is your ability to wait you turn or work through a challenge. Princesses should try to be patient with themselves and other people and things around them. I love it, your child can have fun playing pretend/dress up as well as learn and  improve her own personal character traits.

I have fallen in love this extra special academy for our super special little girls! I will definitely be stopping by again!

Buy it: My Princess Academy Pettiskirt can be purchased on the Academy website for $32.00 (plus shipping) US. You have the option of gift wrapping.  The Holiday is fast approaching so I do recommend checking out My Princess Academy for the princesses in your life! Note that most of the clothing items in the store range for ages 3 -4 to 7-8 in size. http://store.myprincessacademy.com/

Win it!

Holiday Gift Guide: Bella Sara, Bellas’s Ball Trading Cards Review

bsLogo

A little about Bella Sara…
Bella in Bellas Ball for Marketing Portal
Bella Sara™ is a safe, fun-filled magical world of horses and other characters for children ages 5 and up to expand their imaginations. Since its introduction, Bella Sara has expanded its product lines from trading cards and a virtual world to miniature velvety horses, collector’s tins, books, PC and Nintendo games, puzzles, arts and crafts in the North America market. Bella Sara products come with positive messaging and a secret code that expands a child’s experience with a virtual online world. By entering these secret codes at BellaSara.com, children can enhance their online and offline experiences with games, activities, and caring for their magical horses.

My Thoughts…

I was given the opportunity to review two packs of cards from Bella Sara’s latest themed trading cards  collection called “Bella’s Ball”. Each pack of cards I received included 5 random horse and/or story cards, 1radnom sticker card, and one random Bella Sara Ticket Card.

The ticket cards are pretty neat as you receive a special secret code which can unlock 1 of 10 magical adventures on BellaSara.com that are exclusive to just the Ball.  You child is given the opportunity to learn more about the enchanting ballrooms of Rolandsgaard Castle, and be captivated by whimsical adventures and stories of legend!

I like the online aspect of Bella Sara as you can adopt your own foal! This teaches children the responsibility of caring for an animal, as they have to sign in to feed, groom,  and play/explore with their horses! Oh, and all of this is free! There are many options as a parent that you can choose too when using Bella Sara Online, like allowing them to link up with other friends whom also play as well as limiting how much time they spend on the website!

In other news, Bella Sara just released their very first Animated DVD which is currently available at Target, Wal-Mart, Toy-R-Us, and many other places for just 7.99! This DVD brings all whole new aspect to Bella Sara and children are introduced to new characters and sheds a whole new light of the world Bella Sara commonly explores!

Bella Sara trading cards are available for purchase in many places.  I’ve seen them in our local game store as well as in Target. Thought you can also purchase these directly from the Bella Sara site if you so choose! I’m sure if you have a horse lover in your life, that she’d enjoy getting a set of these in her stocking this Holiday season! The sets I reviewed are about 2.99 a pack!

Disclaimer: I was sent a set of two trading card packs from Bella Sarah to review . This review is 100% my opinion and has not been edited or reviewed by anyone. I was not compensated in any other way for this product review.
