Review and Giveaway: My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: The Friendship Express DVD

I haven’t met a little girl that didn’t love horses, unicorns, and especially sweet little ponies. When I was a little girl I dreamed of having a horse and having such great adventures! The horse in my dreams was majestic, knew me perfectly, and we were completey inseparable. I still love horse and I am happy to see this love also forming in my three year old daughter who has recently discovered the magical world of unicorns and other horse friends in My Little Pony ( a newer version of the show I used to watch myself as a child)!

Episode titles include; Friendship is Magic part 1, Friendship is Magic part 2, Over a Barrel, Hearth’s Warming Eve and The Last Roundup. My daughter loves her friends and is always talking about them. I appreciate titles such as this one that encourage and display characteristics we all should take to heart to be a good friend!
My nearly four year old daughter loves My Little Pony! Her favorite character is Twilight Sparkle since she’s a unicorn pony and she’s purple, my daughters favorite color. The Littlest Angel {DVD Review & Giveaway}
About the Film: The Littlest Angel tells the story of a young boy who arrives in heaven before his time. Home-sick and lonely, he will travel back to earth, with his friendly pup Halo, to retrieve a most selfless and precious gift for The Baby Jesus. First released in book form in 1946, The Littlest Angel became popular for its ornate words and phrases paired with beautifully muted oil paintings. Tazewell’s book was adapted into a TV musical in 1969 starring Johnny Whitaker, and theatrical versions continue to be done by schools and church groups today. The Author would follow-up with another childhood favorite, “The Littlest Snowman,” that would be read annually on the “Captain Kangaroo” show.
It’s a modern twist on the timeless tale of an Angel that discovers the greatest gifts in life are faith, friendship and doing the right thing. This new version of The Littlest Angel features wonderful animation and great vocal talent, including Ron Perlman (“Beauty and the Beast,” Tangled) and is sure to become a holiday favorite, much like the book.
Special features for this film include:Free study guide download (available @ The Littlest Angel Movie page). You can print coloring pages, download bible study leader and student plans.
Our Thoughts…
A warming tale that not only children will enjoy but adults as well. This movie was a great feel good flick to put on and cozy up on the couch together while snacking out on popcorn and hot chocolate. For my children ages 3.5 years old and ten months The Littlest Angel was a winner and though not entirely paying attention, my husband seemed to enjoy it as well. I noted this because he brought it up in conversation later this week.
The Littlest Angel has a heartfelt story line that teaches the importance of Faith, Friendship, and Doing the Right Thing. The animation is very colorful and warm. It’s quite inviting to the eye and the characters are quite interesting to learn about. I love when a book is made into a film well and this one certainly has hit the mark!
I would highly recommend picking this one up to enjoy during the Christmas season! This one would be fantastic to take a long during those long trips to visit family and even to watch when there’s not much else for the kids to do. You can pre-order The Littlest Angel on Amazon.com right now for $9.99 and eligible for free super savers shipping.

Conan The Adventurer: Season One {review}
My family and I recently received a copy of one of the latest Shout! Factory DVD releases, Conan The Adventurer: Season One to review. This cartoon first aired in the 80′s and it was neat to learn that it’s now available on DVD. I remember this show among many other 80′s to early 90′s cartoon series such as She Ra, Transformers, He-Man, being pretty popular to my own generation and it’s awesome we can now relive them and share them with our own children.
Growing up I was a fan adventure, action, and fantasy so it’s no surprise that Conan the Adventure would be playing in my home. I enjoyed watching this series and am glad it’s pretty age appropriate to children compared to the live action movies which I believe is to much for the younger ones to watch.
I felt that this particular collection had a great story which you can’t find in a lot of cartoons these days and can’t wait till the other seasons will be released! I heard that season 2 will be released in November! It’s acutally nice to start collecting some cartoon series that my son will enjoy other than cartoons full of pretty pink princesses, ponies, and singing flowers.
