Happy Earth Day!
Melody and Owen are celebrating a week of Earth appreciation! We started today talking about ways we help take care of the earth and did a fun craft. The craft was of the earth and then the kids traced their hands and Mommy helped cut those out so the kids could glue them to the back of the earth. It was to help the kids remember caring for our planet gives it a helping hand.
Did you do anything for Earth Day? Please share what!
Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival 2012

A few weeks ago, my family I attended the Flock & Fiber Festival held in Canby Oregon! I had such a good time and after saving up a for a few months was able to spurge a little on some fancy local yarns. The yarns I picked out were Merino Wool yarn which is super soft and extremely cozy when worn. I haven’t knit anything with them yet but plan on whipping up a couple of pair of socks this winter. I’ve yet to knit socks so I am hoping and praying that they come out looking really good. I am known to be a perfectionist when it comes to my knitting ( my graphic design too!) so hopefully not many frustrations and frogging of my work!

Above are just some of the pictures I took while at the festival. I enjoyed getting to see all the fun fiber animals and my children loved going and seeing the beautiful variety of fibers and the fun fluffy sheep, bunnies, goats, alpacas, and llamas! We can’t wait to go again next September!
Getting Crafty: Plastic Easter Egg Decorating Fun!

Being inspired this week by a recent post over at the Makes and Takes blog, we got to work on our very own decorated plastic Easter eggs! This a very kid friendly craft and my daughter Melody loved it! I enjoyed watching her creativity be sparked as she chose her own pipe cleaners, googly eyes of different shapes and sizes to decorate the eggs all in her own way. She was pretty pleased with her aliens, bug, and carrot eggs and I loved them too!
Why hide or decorate with ordinary eggs when you can create such fun custom ones? If you are looking for a fun and easy craft to do with your toddler, preschooler, or older child, I’d recommend this one!
Please share if you have any other craft ideas for Easter or the Spring Season that you think my family and I might want to create!
