Book Review: Crafty Chloe
Fancy Nancy meets Martha Stewart in Crafty Chloe, the adorable DIY star of a new picture book series!
As a do it yourself artistic person, I’m rejoicing with a book I can share with my nearly four year old daughter that wants to be just like me embracing being crafty and creative in numbers of ways. Kelly DiPucchio the author of Crafty Chloe has done a wonderful job in presenting a book that is geared toward children of the artistic persuasion and personality.
Heather Ross, illustrator of Crafty Chloe has done an exceptional job in bringing the characters of this story to life and keeping children engaged in the story. I also learned she is a fabric designer, so it’s no wonder her designs really stand out! I loved the illustrations and the style was really fun and done in neat artsy way. I’ve caught my daughter sitting in her room with this book just looking at the illustrations since she can’t read yet.
The story of Crafty Chloe is about a a girl that isn’t the star athlete or ballerina dancer but one who loves to create! When we meet Chloe, we see that she has plans to make a unique gift for her friends birthday even though another girl she knows turns her nose up at the very idea of it! The story is quite fun and children can learn valuable lessons such as love, value, worth, and care. My daughter loves Crafty Chloe and has been brining the book for me to read to her everyday!
I highly recommend gifting this book to the crafty little girl in your life! An added bonus to the book is the website of Crafty Chloe which features fun crafts suggestion and ideas to create just like the ones seen in the book! I am sure my daughter would thrilled if we decided to make Glow in the Dark star PJ’s Chloe’s.

Book Review: When My Baby Dreams by Adele Enersen
From the brilliant mind of new mother Adele Enersen comes this imaginative journey
through the irresistible dreamscapes of a newborn. A love letter to babies everywhere.
Creative and uniqueness fills every page of this darling hard-cover little book. I found myself tickled with the thought and sentiment that went into creating such a sweet a story about what a baby may dream about. The photography in this book is really nice and fits well with each corresponding page resembling a scene a baby may dream up. Photo props cleverly include things like blankets, shirts, a clothes line, stars made from fabrics, and more to create the scenes.
Through out the book you’ll see scenes of baby being a butterfly, astronaut, a book worm, a mermaid, and more! I really love the thought that went behind it all! This book would make a fantastic baby shower gift, a possible muse for a budding newborn photographer, and a sweet book for a parent to share with their children. My kids ages 3 1/2 and 1 years old like this book. And it hasn’t faltered in making me smile yet!
You can purchase When My Baby Dreams for $9.32 on Amazon.com and it’s eligible for free super saving shipping too.

Children’s Book Review: The Gift Box by Rowan Henry

About the Book
One day Ollie’s mother tells him that he is “a beautiful gift.” Delighted with this new “identity,” Ollie invites his friend Benjamin to guess what it is. When poor Benjamin cannot guess, despite many hints, Ollie refuses to play with him. Seeing that he’s hurt his friend’s feelings, Ollie realizes that the best gift of all is friendship. Rohan Henry has wonderfully captured the interactions of young friends as they come to learn how to play together.

Our Thoughts…
We were pretty delighted with The Gift Box by Rowan Henry. The book we were sent is 9×9 in size featuring a hardcover and has a shiny, eye catching cover illustration making this book one a child would probably aim to grab right away for story time. I for one really liked the fun child-like drawn illustrations used as well as the colors. As I read this story to my children ages 3 1/2 & 1 years old, I could almost see the lively little characters dancing off the pages as they paraded around.
We found this to be a cute tale that illustrates love and friendship in a fun way. It kept not only my kids eager to see what would happen next but myself as well. This book confronts love, empathy, self concepts, and friendship. This would be a cute book to share with your children either boy or girl and a special gift for Valentines Day!
