Band Angels {review & giveaway}

Band Angels is brand line of products created in 2009 to provide mothers and caretakers a way to comfort and teach children in the ways of the Bible when everyday, minor injuries occur.

Who would have that a product most commonly used to cover my daughter’s ouchie boo boo’s  could open the door to ministering to my children, their friends, and to complete strangers about the healing love and power of God Almighty!

These band-aids feature two fun angel friends carrying a scroll that features up to three Bible verses that talk about healing such as Ex. 15:26 “For I am the LORD that heals you”. Jeremiah 30:17 “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds”. And Isaiah 53:5 …by His stripes we are healed.

My Thoughts….

I received a box of these to review and I’ve had to use them plenty. My daughter turning two years old next month is a bit of a tom boy. She’s about afraid of nothing and when she gets outdoors, there’s no doubt that she’ll return back to me with all sorts of cut, scrapes, and bruises to be bandaged.

S he also gets blood draw every six weeks to three months depending on how her thyroid condition is doing and these are always great to pull out to put on her boo boo’s after she ends up pulling the other band-aids off. She’s getting older and I’ve been sharing more about God with her and she really likes these band-aids a lot. I like them too because they are less likely to just fall off as well. One day I left the box out and Melody was putting them all over her dolls whom apparently fell down and got hurt. Did I mention she’s got quite the imagination?

You can purchase Band Angels straight from their website and in most christian book stores. Boxes contain twenty band-aids and right now are three boxes for ten dollars or you can buy each box individual for $3.50 box which includes shipping in the United States!

The Joy of Soap {review & giveaway} – closed

There’s always been something extra special about using handmade soaps. I’d prefer them over any soap that I’d typically be purchasing at my local retail store.

You can imagine how excited that I was when I was contacted personally to review several 2 ounce bars of soap from the company The Joy of Soap. This company offers natural skin care made from organic, natural and sustainably grown ingredients perfect for skin types of all kinds.

I reviewed several different scents that their soap are available in and I must say that I love all them. Each of the soaps I received arrived in a 100% cotton muslin bags, which  can be reused for many other purposes around my house! Recently we’ve been using the Cucumber Curious soap in which not only do I like but my husband does too. We both love the fact that the scent isn’t over bearing but instead smells light and wonderful. This soap also gives a fantastic lather as well meaning that just a little goes a long way.

If you are thinking of purchasing soap for yourself or for as a gift for someone else, I encourage you to check out The Joy of Soap. Their soaps would make the perfect addition to a gift basket and the perfect gift for Mom this Mother’s Day. Be on the look out as well because they will soon be offering more skin care products such as scrubs, cleansers, and creams.

Holiday Gift Guide: Spa DayR3 Review

1207664451470-1820998129

Room Sprays-3It’s not everyday that you find a spa related company such as  SpaDayR3, in which biblical principles and scripture are added to the many products offered. Lisa Hampton-Qualls owner, began this ministry of spa workshops to demonstrate ways to care for our bodies as well as tend to our souls. I enjoyed getting to know Lisa and I’ve really like the fact that I can see her love for Christ in what He’s called her to do!

Each of the products that can be found at SpaDayR3 are created solely from natrual ingredients which include no harmful additives such as mineral oil and petroleum. I was thrilled when given to opportunity to review some of the products that can be found at SpaDayR3, and would like to share my thoughts on each of them!

Get Lippy-1Aroma Spray is one of the many products that you can find under the Scent-ual Home section at SpaDayR3! I’ve been using a sample size bottles of the three following sprays: Socially Acceptable, Clean Air, and Orange Pomander (new holiday scent). I want to state that my husband is not huge on air freshener. He’s really picky when it comes to scents and fragrant type things. I’d been using this stuff for over a week and I’ve heard no complaints at all from him, in fact he said it smells really great and we both agreed that the Orange Pomander spray is our favorite! I can now thanks to SpaDayR3, have a great smelling home as well as keeping it disinfected and deodorized all at the same time! A little goes a long way so 6.00 for a 4 oz spray bottles isn’t a bad deal! And with eight different fragrances their is sure to be a perfect scent for everyone!CIMG0263

SpaDayR3 also offers a Natural Lip Moisturizer called Get Lippy! I found the flavor to be not too sweet as it’s flavored with a  touch of honey. Perfect for those whom don’t care for over the top scented lip care products. I’ve been using lip moisturizers a lot more now since it’s gotten colder and found this one to work for very long lengths of time. You can purchase a .25 oz jar for only 2.00 and I think these would make great gifts during the holiday season.

CIMG0040The Bath and Body Potions section of SpaDayR3 offer many fantastic products such as skin care oils. I was given the opportunity to try out a lavender and olive blessings sample.  They both smell wonderfully and can be used as Hot Oil Scalp and Hair treat, After-bath for dewy-fresh skin moisturizing, a relaxing deep tissue muscle massage oil or for a hand and foot pampering oil. I love that there is a variety of uses for the oils!

CIMG0620I was also sent several samples from the Think Pink with Gratitude line which include perfume, body wash, and lotion. I’m not huge into the floral smells but for those that may be, I imagine that they’d really enjoy this line. I am however a fan of the Butter Creme sample I was sent from SpaDayR3‘s latest collection  “Drama Queen Command Performance” which will be available soon!

Buy it: If you are looking for wonderful bath & body products, accessories, jewelry, environmental fragrance products, please do consider SpaDayR3, note that most items are about under 15.00 which make shopping during the Holiday not season less stressful knowing you can get great products for affordable prices! For instance I’d like to recommend the Sea-sations Take-out Spa gift set or you can always mix and match!

Holiday Gift Guide: Tropical Traditions Moisturizing Skin Cream Review

logo-small

mois_unsMy skin is usually only dry and sensitive during the cool months of autumn and winter.  So I usually don’t have moisturizing skin cream on hand but I know that I should. Also, I’ve taken on the new mindset of applying and protecting my skin as a get older. Which means taking the time  to apply skin care products every day. I wish it were as easy as all that, first question is where do I start? I do know that organic products are definitely a must.

Lotions and skin moisturizers can still be effective without having alcohols, artificial fragrances, and  petroleum, that does nothing good for our skin. In Tropical Traditions organic moisturizing cream you’ll find the following ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, plant based emulsifying wax, palm stearic, grapefruit seed extract, organic beeswax, and organic virgin palm oil. Nothing odd or out of the ordinary there!

Tropical Traditions is one of my favorite places to check out for all sorts of  wonderful organic products! I happened across their lavender organic moisturizing cream and have been using it for about two weeks now. A little goes a long way with this moisturizer as it’s highly concentrated. As I applied it to my face, hands, and body, I found it’s texture to be thick and creamy. Because it doesn’t contain alcohols, it took a little longer to absorb into my skin. No oily residue was left behind after use of this product and no odd break outs to skin. My skin was left feeling smooth, soft, and smelling wonderful!

The 4 oz. container of Tropical Traditions Moisturizing Skin Cream is regularly 19.50 but is on special right now for $13.50!

I’m going to be giving away a gift set from Tropical Traditions during the month of November, after a series of various product reviews of the items included. Be on the look out for your chance to enter!  Note that if you comment on this review, you’ll get an extra entry into the giveaway **

Holiday Gift Guide: Soft Lips Review and Giveaway

I remember the first time that I used Softlips Lip Balm. The flavor I had tried was Vanilla, which smells oh so yummy!  I liked that this lip balm rolled on smoothly, left my lips feeling soft, moist, light, and protected against becoming chapped for a very long amounts of time. The fantastic slim tube are perfect for not making your jean pockets look overly bulky too! Note also that if your lip stick doesn’t contain protection for your lips and most cases it won’t, you an apply Softlips over or under to provide your lips proper care!

I was given the opportunity as of lately to try out several fantastic new flavors of  Softlips Lip Balm with SPF 20 from their Pure organic lip line and their Limited Edition Winter Flavors line.

The winter flavors I was able to try are Sugar & Spice, Sugar Plum Berry, Winter Mint, and Sugar Cookie. These fantastic flavors definitely get you into the Holiday season with reminders of everything we love and cherish during this time of the year. I am fond of all the flavors but my top two would have to be the cherry sugar cookie and the winter mint, yum!

I think it’s fantastic that Softlips has come out with an Organic Lip Conditioner line.  This line is 95% certified organic and 100% natural, USDA-certified, and is made up of a blend of  organic oils, beeswax and shea butter. Softlips has made these available in four new  flavors of  Acai Berry,  Chai Tea, Pomegranate, Peppermint, and  Honeydew. I’m a big fan of mint so I absolutely adore the peppermint flavor and the pomegranate closes in at second!

Softlips products are priced around $2.79 for one 0.07 ounce stick and $3.99 for the value pack containing 2 Softlips sticks.

To learn more about Softlips and other fun giveaway opportunities, check out their Facebook page.

Win it: Softlips has generously offered one of my readers the opportunity to win a set of the four new winter flavors!
