Review: Paula Deen Southern Gathering Stoneware 9×13-in. Baker

I am in love with my Paula Deen  Signature Stoneware Southern Gathering 9 by 13 Baker.
Each of the pieces in the Southern Stoneware Southern Gathering Collection are uniquely glazed making so no two of these area like. I don’t know about you, but when something is uniquely made it just makes the item much more desirable and all the more special.

I’ve used this dish in the oven and have found whatever I am baking cooks evenly. It’s a cinch to clean whether by hand or in the dishwasher. It also can be used in refrigerator and freezer. And sometimes an often con in stoneware, I personally didn’t find this piece too heavy in the least bit.

This piece is so pretty with its unique hobnail design. The online pictures I feel don’t do it justice. It honestly makes me want to bake more! I’m already making meal plan list around it each month to get more use of it. Casseroles, Lasagna, Sides, Cobblers, and more. I guarantee you’ll be inspired to cook and plan meals that’ll have this dish sitting on your table weekly if not daily!

My husband saw how much I loved this one and bought me the Paula Deen Signature Stoneware Southern Gathering Loaf Pan! I’m very happy and hope to collect the remaining pieces in this collection soon for baking, serving, and presenting wonderful meals to my family and friends!

If you love this baker too, note you can purchase it on Amazon.com for $29.99 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping.

Holiday Gift Guide 2011:Vinyl Wall Quotes by Belvedere Designs {Review + Giveaway }

If you are wanting to decorate the walls of your home,  I would recommend checking out vinyl art and lettering. Vinyl is a great alternative to having pieces of  framed art that needs mounted and also to painting designs and murals on the walls. I for one love to decorate but have held back because of living in rental homes and apartments where such things are just not allowed. I think it’s great to have a reasonably priced solution and option to my household designing needs!Lovely Vinyl Wall Art hung on my wall for all to see.

I recently was introduced to a great vinyl wall decal company called Belvedere Designs. This company specializes in offering unique vinyl wall art! The options are endless as you can pick specifics quotes,  single words, or a particular art design from their many categories! You have the options of choosing a favored font style, color, and a specific size that’s perfect for wherever you’d like to display your wall quote or art. And if you don’t see something you like that’s already offered, they also take custom request!

I was sent a wall quote from their Religious quote category to review and share my thoughts on which reads ” The Approval of The Lord Matters More Than The Applause of Men”.  I had my husband read the included instructions and apply the quote to the corner in our living room. The instructions were very easy to follow and in about 10-15 minutes tops I had a lovely quote on wall for all to see.

I quite enjoyed browsing the the Fall 2011 and Seasonal Collection. Both categories have many great designs that I’d be more than happy to showcase in my home through out the year and during specific holidays. The prices are reasonable and the products are hassle free making decorating a cinch! The designs are simple yet stylish, professional yet not pain staking,  and can make your home or office look great in a matter of minutes!

I highly recommend checking out Belvedere Designs for all your wall art needs! And if you know somebody you think would love something like this, you can also purchase gift certificates straight from their website. Defiently a unique one of a kind gift to give this Holiday Season and there really is something there for everyone especially since you can go really personal and get a custom design done!

How to make your own “AFFORDABLE” Autumn Wreath…

I love the Autumn season and this year I’m getting a little more crafty in decorating my home for it. I figure I’d start with a wreath since there was a score of great items to use for one (believe it or not) at the Dollar Store! My wreath turned out so nice that I’m probably going to go back for another wreath form and making a centerpiece for my dining room table. So how much did this project cost me? As little as $7.00 (Someone my husband showed this wreath too thought it cost $50 )! I adore decorating when it won’t break our budget!

The material I used and bought to make this wreath are

  • 1 Large Wreath Form (1.00)
  • 3 picks of leaves (3.00)
  • 6 pics variety pumpkin, squash, cat tail.. with leaves ($3.00 because they were 2 for 1.00)
  • I used about 6 sticks of glue in my little glue gun but I was being pretty generous.

To start, I plucked/cut all the leaves off the pics and sorted them by color piles. You don’t have to do that but I was making my life easier when it came to gluing everything on the wreath. I placed leaves and glued and placed and glued until my wreath was nice and full with none of the form showing through. I think added the pumpkins, squash, cat tails, and other embellishments on top of the leaves making sure to spread them about in a non uniform looking way. I then glued more leaves on my wreath until I was happy with it. Voila! So simple and such a fantastic crafty decoration to add to making my home more welcome during the Autumn season.
