Holiday Gift Guide: Tropical Traditions Moisturizing Skin Cream Review

logo-small

mois_unsMy skin is usually only dry and sensitive during the cool months of autumn and winter.  So I usually don’t have moisturizing skin cream on hand but I know that I should. Also, I’ve taken on the new mindset of applying and protecting my skin as a get older. Which means taking the time  to apply skin care products every day. I wish it were as easy as all that, first question is where do I start? I do know that organic products are definitely a must.

Lotions and skin moisturizers can still be effective without having alcohols, artificial fragrances, and  petroleum, that does nothing good for our skin. In Tropical Traditions organic moisturizing cream you’ll find the following ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, plant based emulsifying wax, palm stearic, grapefruit seed extract, organic beeswax, and organic virgin palm oil. Nothing odd or out of the ordinary there!

Tropical Traditions is one of my favorite places to check out for all sorts of  wonderful organic products! I happened across their lavender organic moisturizing cream and have been using it for about two weeks now. A little goes a long way with this moisturizer as it’s highly concentrated. As I applied it to my face, hands, and body, I found it’s texture to be thick and creamy. Because it doesn’t contain alcohols, it took a little longer to absorb into my skin. No oily residue was left behind after use of this product and no odd break outs to skin. My skin was left feeling smooth, soft, and smelling wonderful!

The 4 oz. container of Tropical Traditions Moisturizing Skin Cream is regularly 19.50 but is on special right now for $13.50!

I’m going to be giving away a gift set from Tropical Traditions during the month of November, after a series of various product reviews of the items included. Be on the look out for your chance to enter!  Note that if you comment on this review, you’ll get an extra entry into the giveaway **

Holiday Gift Guide: Soft Lips Review and Giveaway

I remember the first time that I used Softlips Lip Balm. The flavor I had tried was Vanilla, which smells oh so yummy!  I liked that this lip balm rolled on smoothly, left my lips feeling soft, moist, light, and protected against becoming chapped for a very long amounts of time. The fantastic slim tube are perfect for not making your jean pockets look overly bulky too! Note also that if your lip stick doesn’t contain protection for your lips and most cases it won’t, you an apply Softlips over or under to provide your lips proper care!

I was given the opportunity as of lately to try out several fantastic new flavors of  Softlips Lip Balm with SPF 20 from their Pure organic lip line and their Limited Edition Winter Flavors line.

The winter flavors I was able to try are Sugar & Spice, Sugar Plum Berry, Winter Mint, and Sugar Cookie. These fantastic flavors definitely get you into the Holiday season with reminders of everything we love and cherish during this time of the year. I am fond of all the flavors but my top two would have to be the cherry sugar cookie and the winter mint, yum!

I think it’s fantastic that Softlips has come out with an Organic Lip Conditioner line.  This line is 95% certified organic and 100% natural, USDA-certified, and is made up of a blend of  organic oils, beeswax and shea butter. Softlips has made these available in four new  flavors of  Acai Berry,  Chai Tea, Pomegranate, Peppermint, and  Honeydew. I’m a big fan of mint so I absolutely adore the peppermint flavor and the pomegranate closes in at second!

Softlips products are priced around $2.79 for one 0.07 ounce stick and $3.99 for the value pack containing 2 Softlips sticks.

Holiday Gift Guide: Tropical Traditions Soap Review

logo-small

cocosoap_lavender

I probably have way more shampoo, lotions, and soaps than I need crammed on the rack in my bathroom. I have quite a bit because sometimes my skin has a negative effect to a product that I wasn’t able to try before I bought it. I want to smell nice but I don’t want my skin to get all dried out or have my skin break out.

Since my skin issues to other products, I’ve discovered the benefits of organic products like the ones offered at Tropical Traditions. What’s so special? Well, many of products like their soaps are made from non-refined, fresh, organic coconuts from the Philippines and no chemical solvents are used in processing.

I was sent Tropical Traditions Coconut soap in Lavender to try out. I found that the soap smell wasn’t overpowering and that it lathered nicely. I’ve been amazed at the results of my skin after using this soap, even my husband likes using it! It’s hard to believe a product that has left my skin feeling so fresh and smelling so delightful only consist of two ingredients!

I’m hoping to eventually get my hands on the only other scent available Tea Tree. These round 3.4 oz soaps normally cost $6.95 a piece but right now are on sell for 5.50 each! Check them out for yourself at Tropical Traditions.

Holiday Gift Guide: Tropical Traditions Organic Lip Moisturizers Review

logo-small

Tropical Traditions offers some of the best 100%  Organic Lip Moisturizers that I’ve ever tried out.  And why I prefer their brand to other companies is because all ingredients are edible and certified organic. Each lip moisturizer is manufactured from organic virgin coconut oil in which I’ve read has amazing benefits for your body. lip_web

I was given the opportunity to try out the Peppermint and Cinnamon combo that was included in a gift set that can be purchased at Tropical Traditions.  I found the flavor of the added essential oils  was spicy yet cooling.  Application to my lips was easy and the lip product wasn’t too oily! It lasted for hours of protection and made my lips feel and look great!

Tropical Traditions Organic Lip Moisturizers are available in the following flavors…

  • Peppermint/Cinnamon (spicy yet cooling)
  • Orange/Cinnamon
  • Tea Tree Oil
  • Citrus
  • Unscented for those whom may be allergic or sensitive to fragrances

I’m a fan of Tropical Traditions lip moisturizers and  for the price of 2.75 for each .15 ounce tube these are quite a steal!
These would make the perfect stocking stuffer this Holiday Season, though they are perfect for anytime of the year!

Florastor For Kids and Adults Review

FlorastorThankfully with my daughter, I haven’t had to deal with too much sickness and the issues that come along with that like diarrhea. Thought it always seem like every time she gets new vaccinations and when she is teething, she gets an upset stomach which leads to some not so fun diaper rashes. I hate seeing my daughter in pain from her rashes, some are minimal but others have been to the point where I almost took her in to see the doctor.

I just learned about a product for kids and adults called Florastor that helps to prevent stomach issues from constipation to diarrhea and is excellent solution to prevent issue with the digestive system.

A little more information…

Florastor is suitable for all (infants 2 months of age to adults). It is a great tasting powder that can be mixed into beverages, including infant formula and soft foods like applesauce and yogurt. It is okay to take with antibiotics as it is natural yeast that works even when taken with antibiotics. Making sure you have the right number of “good microorganisms” may help reduce bloating and gas often caused by an imbalance of microorganisms.

Florastor maintains the balance of good microorganisms in the intestines. Keeps the gut functioning well. Promotes intestinal health. Protects good microorganisms in the intestines. Improves consistency of bowel movements.

Florastor can be used to help prevent and manage: Antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD). Acute gastroenteritis. Traveler’s diarrhea. Clostridium difficile (C. diff, which is a severe, possibly fatal infection of the colon that can occur after healthy microbiota are wiped out by the use of strong antibiotics, allowing a pathogenic bacteria to thrive; currently being seen more often, as C. diff is on the rise).

History:Number-One Probiotic Worldwide: Florastor probiotic supplements have been clinically tested and sold internationally for more than 50 years. The active ingredient in Florastor Kids is mentioned by the World Health Organization for the management of C. diff-associated diarrhea (Saccharomyces boulardii: a valuable adjunct in recurrent Clostridium difficile disease (1995) WHO Drug Information; 9; (1); 15-16). Florastor Kids is now available at most national chain pharmacies throughout the U.S. at numerous retail outlets.

Available: Florastor Kids is available in a box of 10 powder packets for a suggested price of $12.95 and in a box of 20 powder packets for a suggested price of $21.95. The adult version which are available in capsules are $9.95 for a box of ten.

Where to Buy: Florastor is available in most retail chain pharmacies, and at independent pharmacies.

I would definitely recommend giving this product a try if you are looking for a safe natural substitute in maintaining healthy intestinal function .

Heaven’s Alchemy Exquisite Perfumes Review and Giveaway (CLOSED)

b51e38f7-0fbb-41d3-a28c-e86245753c0a

I have never been a big of a fan of perfumes.  I had tried many that ended up making me feel icky, giving me a headache, or would make me sneeze uncontrollably. To make matters worse, other people would wear perfume and it would be so strong and give me a reaction as well. I gave up wearing perfumes and stuck to body sprays that are great but the fragrance only last so long before it wears off.

When I heard about Heaven’s Alchemy Exquisite Perfumes, perfumes that are made without the use of alcohol, color additives, phthalates and parabens, I was willing to give it a try.

Each of  Heaven’s Alchemy perfumes are made with the finest essential oils coming together to make unique engaging fragrances that invoke passion, romance, and sophistication.

aadce02a-7305-4605-a64b-99c7e3c60139The names of the fragrances are after certain romantic cities throughout the world. Such as Dublin, Kyoto, Casablanca, and Paris to be specific.

The bottles my husband and I both fell in love with.  Each of the bottles are handcrafted and reflect the artisan’s work in their natural variation. I think each of the bottles represent each of the perfumes perfectly.

Heaven’s Alchemy was generous enough to send me a sampler set which included all thirteen of their fragrances. I think a sampler pack is an ingenious idea, by the way! I was very nervous before trying out these perfumes and was clearly surprised when I had no bad reaction at all!

A few of my favorites include Kyoto, Milan, Dublin, and Zanzibar. The description of  the Dublin perfume is “Enchanting landscapes, ancient mysteries, fairies and poetry. Our magical formula summons the Romance that is distinctly, beautifully Irish” in which suits it well.

Overall, I am fan of Heaven’s Alchemy Exquisite Perfumes and will be hinting this to my husband!
