My Thoughts on ThredUP
Back to school shopping for clothes can sometimes be daunting especially for more than one child. If you aren’t huge into buying brand new, there are other options out there. During the next month or so, I’m going to be talking about some of the online second hand options that are out there from a first hand experience.
Let’s talk about Thred Up. I’d been a member at this company for well over two years and loved it. I was highly recommending and continually sharing about all the wonderful things they were doing for families. I was able to spend a set amount and receive and super stuffed box of clothes or toys for my kids and in turn send one out to another family! It was a great way to get connected and it felt good knowing a family that really needed the clothes was getting an awesome deal on them. It wasn’t until this year that ThredUP went and changed the way they ran their site that my love faded. Read the rest of this entry »
Review & Giveaway: Mia and the Migoo DVD (three winners!)
Following a premonition, Mia sets out on a cross continental journey, though mountains and jungles in search of her father, who has been trapped in a landslide at a construction site on a remote tropical lake. In the middle of the lake stands the ancient Tree of Life, watched over by innocent, bumbling forest spirits called the Migoo, who grow and change shape as they please, morphing from small childlike beings to petulant giants. The Migoo have been disrupting the construction to protect this sacred site – and now together with Mia they join in a fight to find Mia’s father and save the Tree, with the future of life on Earth hanging in the balance.
Our Thoughts…
I was very excited when I was given the opportunity to see the latest movie from the distributors of The Secret of Kells. Famous French animator Jacques-Rémy Girerd does a splendid job in offering a gorgeously stunning masterpiece in a style like no other I’ve seen before. My husband even commented on the style of the animation saying it was really different and quite like a painting come to life! And in fact it was, from an astounding 500,000 hand-painted frames of animation that clearly invoke Van Gogh, Monet, and Cezanne!
The story of this movie about a young girl who must overcome her fears on a quest to find her father and save the world from destruction. What an adventure this story takes you on and every step of the way keeping the attention of children as well as their parents. I was extremely eager to find out how this little girl in the story would find her Dad and if the broken relationships of the other main characters would be mended and in what way. Review: Rubbermaid’s LunchBlox™ Sandwich Kit
The 2012 school season is upon on us all and before we know it, we’ll be rushing here and there getting back into the swing of things after a long or maybe not long enough Summer! Staying organized is key to keeping anything running smoothly and with school starting that can sometimes be quite the challenge. I know some people have set goals to keep their family eating healthier but may be struggling on how to pull all that together into a lunch on the go. Well, packing lunches whether for yourself or for your kids doesn’t have to be hard thanks to a new line of Modular containers by Rubbermaid.

I’d like to introduce you to Rubbermaid® LunchBlox™ line. These containers are ideal for packing a portion control sized lunch for on the go. I was sent the Sandwich Kit to review and am quite pleased with it! This particular set includes 2 Snack Containers, 1 Side Container, 1 Sandwich Container and 1 Medium Blue Ice.
I was really tickled to find that the Sandwich Kit containers stack and lock together and can be placed in your lunch box or bag in numerous way to keep things in place! Who really wants their lunch to end up all over the place? Certainly not me. The Blue Ice is genius to be included, that way if you want to keep your sandwich, veggies or salad cool, you can totally do so without worry of your food wilting or spoiling in anyway.
I’ve been having fun making up lunches in advance that would be appealing to my kids and found the BPA containers to withstand just about anything being microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe! I’ve also not had any leaks what so ever when storing liquid type foods in them such as soups, salad dressings, and yogurt! Read the rest of this entry »
