Our Thoughts…

I’ll have to admit, I’ve been looking forward to the Fall quite a bit lately. There’s so many things I enjoy about this season! There’s the cool crisp air, apples, pumpkins, cool evenings snuggling up on the couch with my family or a good book, the changing of leaves, trendy boots, baking in the kitchen filling my house with the most delicious smells, and my list of loves could go on and on about the Autumn.
Speaking of the delicious smells that the Autumn season brings, I’ve secretly been enjoying some of those already thanks to the Bridgewater Candle Company. I must state that I am not a person that usually enjoys the smells of candles. Quite frankly, I find that to many of them smell too strong or sweet and they often leave me with a bad allergic reaction and a looming headache. My husband also reacts in about the same way with certain scents, but we are pleased to say that with Bridgewater Candle Company’s All Natural Soy Candles, we’ve had no issues at all!
My family and I have been enjoying the the Welcome Home and Fresh Apple scented large candles. Both candles smell absolutely divine and I like them both in very different ways. The Welcome Home candle reminds me of my mom. It’s aroma is of cinnamon, plums and apples. If you could peg any one smell uniquely to Autumn, I whole heartily would peg it to this one. And the Fresh Apple scents smells just like you’ve walked straight into a farmers country store or orchard during Apple Picking season! I honestly couldn’t believe I was smelling a candle!

Bridgewater Candle Company come in a number of sizes. The candles I was sent were in the large size. The large size is 17.6 oz and the burn time is 140-160 hours. And another thing about this size is that 1 jar candle, feeds 1 orphaned child, for 1 day as a part of their “Light a candle feed a child” program. What a wholesome and generous cause this is and what a great way to to not only gift a candle to your friends in family but to also give back to those in need.
I’m quite the fan of Bridgewater Candles and highly support them in their cause to give back. I like that they offer a huge selection of natural soy candles that smell great and can completely set the tone in any home. I really do enjoy these scents and am pondering which ones from this company that I’ll bring into my home next. I found the pricing very reasonable for example, the large candles cost just 22.00 each! And an added bonus, you can reuse the jars for anything you heart desires (crayon storage, cotton balls, q-tips, candy…)!
If you are interested in purchasing from Bridgewater Candle Company know that they have a variety of home fragrances in many forms such as sachets, diffusers, wax potpourri, scented oils, and more. Their products are available on line as well and quite possibly a store near you. (check here). Please note that right now there’s Free Shipping on retail orders over 100.00

Review & Giveaway: Word World to The Rescue DVD
Welcome to WordWorld, where words are the stars of the show! Join Duck and Fly as they learn how to be firefighters just like their friend Firefighter Frog! To be firefighters, the gang has to keep a look out for any signs of smoke in WordWorld…because where there’s smoke, there’s fire! Will Duck and Fly be able to determine what’s really smoke and what’s not? Firefighters to the rescue!
My kids ages 1 1/2 and 4 years old love Word World and I’m glad that they do! It’s a show that in my opinion demonstrates that learning to read can be fun! This show teaches children letter sounds, how to build words, rhyme, and much more! It’s pretty neat that it shows literally how letters come together to form words. Perfect for any child that learns visually.
The stories are cute and the characters completely love-able. Kids will be engaged with the stories and learn important early reading skills a long the way. I know mine have!
On the 21st of August, nCircle Entertainment released Word World to The Rescue! This collection of four different episodes each with their own general theme has been a hit in our home. Here’s a brief description below of the episodes:
To The Rescue
Duck and Fly want to become firefighters, just like their friend Firefighter Frog. To be firefighters, the gang has to keep a look out for any signs of smoke in WordWorld, because where there’s smoke, there’s fire! Will Duck and Fly be able to determine what’s really smoke and what’s not? Firefighters to the rescue!
Duck Saves Spider’s Web
When DUCK accidentally crashes into Spider’s web and breaks it apart into letters, he has to go about finding the letters to fix it. But he doesn’t know what letters are in the word ‘web’! With ELEPHANT’s help, he learns that sometimes if you can sound out a word, you can figure out what letters you need to build it.
The Best Nest
It’s DUCK’s turn at show and tell at school, and he wants to bring the thing he loves the best: his nest! But when the nest breaks apart into letters, will DUCK be able to retrieve them all in time?
Caterpillar Gets a Home
On a rainy, windy day in WordWorld, DUCK helps his new friend, caterpillar, build a home to keep her safe from the weather. But not just any word will keep an itty bitty caterpillar from getting wet or blown away…
Final Thoughts and Tidbits…
The runtime of this DVD is 60 minutes long. You can easily let your children watch the whole DVD at one sitting or space at the viewing time an afterward discuss the story and other things they they’ve learned. Along with the DVD was a Word World character poster in which my kids couldn’t wait to have hung on their wall!
Overall, I would highly recommend this DVD to parents or teachers of preschool to kindergarten aged children. Sugested retail price is 9.99. I found WordWorld: To the Rescue for 8.99 on Amazon.com.

Review: International Arrivals “bringing fun to your school day”
Just because work and school can be boring doesn’t mean your stationery supplies have to be! International Arrivals brings fun to your office and school day with their line of stationery items.
Established in 2005, International Arrivals was inspired by former Barnes & Noble buyer Carol Tyner. With the ingenious idea to create fun and practical supplies for adults and children, International Arrivals has produced clever products such as scented pens, pencils and markers to pencil sharpeners, paper clips and journals, among many other stationery supplies.
Gathering attention from magazines such as O Magazine, Woman’s Day and Real Simple, International Arrivals is paving the way for imaginative writing instruments and stationery supplies. Check out what all the hype is about at www.intlarrivals.com
Our Thoughts…
Both my children were extremely happy when I opened up a box full of unique and fun school supplies for them to enjoy and use daily during their 2012 school year from International Arrivals. Some of the awesome supplies we received were sweet smelling gourmet Smencils, fuzzy wuzzy and sparkle pencils, jumbo sized markers, self sharpening crayon sticks, candy shaped erasers, rulers, and a few more things!
I think receiving special school supplies to use through out the school year nurtures and shows a big part of your child’s personality. My four year old daughter for instance, choose the school supplies out of those we were sent to review that I thought portrayed her perfectly. She’s a very happy, extroverted child, she loves the color purple, and anything that sparkles. She right away went straight for the purple sparkle pencils and the purple colored ruler. Once she found out the other pencils and erasers smelled uniquely different she couldn’t wait to use them and show them off to everyone she came in contact with.
My 20 month son who really loves drawing right now, enjoyed using the Chunky Monkey set of 10 markers. These markers cover every color needed to create a masterpiece. My son had no issues holding and using these to draw. I like that they come in a clear storable container and that the lids of the markers are easy to take off and put back on.
Out of everything we received, I was really tickled with the Color Appeel crayon sticks! These awesome crayon sticks peel to sharpen, keeping them ready to use without the hassle of digging out your pencil or crayon sharpener to continue drawing or coloring. The names of the colors are equally as fun as the sticks themselves with names such as odd ball orange, lighthouse blue, bamboo brown, and peacock purple to name a few!
I highly recommend check out www.intlarrivals.com for yourself, you won’t be disappointed in the products that can be found there. Hurry on! I’m sure any of these products would be sure to brighten the day of any child (or adult!).
