Review and Giveaway: Learning Resources Candy Construction Building Set

What child doesn’t love sweet gumdrops, cleverly twisted licorate sticks, and round peppermints in red and green? These images invoke candy making fun memories commonly shared around the holiday season. And with July in full swing, I’m sure we all have been hearing about Christmas in July. So what better a time to talk about a sweetly tantalizing building set that is uniquely special as well as a a treat to the eyes.
Learning Resources 2012 line product line offers lots of great products in which my home-school family has been very happy with. What’s been keeping my kids busy lately is their Candy Construction Building Set. My four year old daughter loves to build with anything and everything she can get her hands on. You can bet when I presented her with this set, that she was extremely overjoyed and bubbling with happiness.
This Candy Set is ideal for building all sorts of candy structures that develop skills in your child such as challenging them to to follow instruction. I like that there are full color illustrated instructions in the included manual that demonstrate what pieces they’ll need from the set to make things like a car, swing, and a house to name a few. But this set isn’t limited to just those things, children can then be encouraged to think up and create their own personal masterpieces!
Ninety-two pieces of various candy are included in this set. There’s plenty to go around and would be fun for more than one child to share and use at the same time. I found the pieces to be quiet durable and are sized perfectly with their chunky weight and colorfully sweet shades of red, green, orange, yellow, purple, and chocolate!
My daughter could easily put pieces together and take them apart with no trouble. The set is really durable and that something I appreciate in any sort of product made for children to play with. She loves playing with this set and discovering what interesting new things she can make up to show everyone! I asked her thoughts and she said it was really fun to play with and that she loves having something other than just blocks to use to build things.
Overall, we all really adore the Candy Building set. It’s great for developing fine motor skills as well as thinking up new things in a fun exploratory way! If you have a child that loves to build as much as mine, you’ll most definitely want to think about purchasing this really neat set for them too! Set recommendations is for children ages 4 to 8 years old.
