Review: Ponderosa Roasting Coffee Company

I’d like to think of myself as a coffee enthusiast. I’ll vouch that years ago I knew next to nothing when it came to coffee. Today I can proudly say that I know many things such as the difference in roast levels, the grind, freshness, and much more. In all honesty, next to water coffee is my drink of choice whether served hot or cold.
Moving from Georgia to Oregon about six years ago, my appreciation for coffee has tremendously changed as I’ve been introduced to many local roasts that have been rich and savory in flavor and freshness. And speaking of delicious coffees, I’d like to introduce you to a roaster from California that gave me an opportunity to try out some of their wonderful coffees and to get birds eye view so to speak into what they do and are aiming for in their coffee company business.
About Ponderosa Coffee Company…
This coffee company was started by a husband and wife team that originally started out as ”Renegade Roasters”, designing one of a kind coffee roasters that in turn makes exceptionally delicious specialty coffees. What makes their roasters so different is that they are digital in turn that there’s a touch screen controller that allows roasters to tweak their roast to desired taste!
The Ponderosa Coffee Company supports farmers in buying beans in knowing that farmers get their fare share of the profit. Per example their Organic Coffee Peru’s supplier “Sustainable Harvest” is in contact personally with Ponderosa in letting them know that the coffee bean farms get back 91% of the money they earn for the coffees.
I love that Ponderosa gives back to the community by offering special coffees with a purpose supporting causes such as Team in Training (Leukemia & Lymphoma blood cancers organization), Pretty in Pink (A Foundation that provides the financial assistance necessary to fight breast cancer), and the Denver Down-syndrome foundations.
The Ponderosa Roasting Coffee Company offers numerous flavors and types of coffee. I personally was given the opportunity to try out a few of their organic roasts such as: Peru, Vanilla, The Box Office Blend, and Carmel, to name just a few. I found all of the coffees to be distinct in flavor and freshness. The richness and full flavor of the beans in each of the coffees really stood out to me and that’s saying a lot considering how many different coffees I’ve sampled over the years.
If you are interested in purchasing any of their coffee, you’ll be pleased to see quite the selection of flavors. You can choose how you’d like your coffee ground, roast preference, and caffeine preference. They also cater parties and can make special roasts for a fund-raisers, and more! Some of the recent events they’ve catered include the MTV Movie Awards, An Oscar Event, and the Kids Choice Awards.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the Ponderosa Roasting Coffee Company. I love that they are giving back with their coffees for a purpose, supporting farmers fairly, and have created coffees that taste as good as their descriptions sound. Also, I think their pricing is very affordable! In fact, right now, they are offering free shipping on all orders $50 and above!

Review & Giveaway: Primary Science Magnet Set from Learning Resources
I couldn’t agree more with my kids that Science is so much fun! Now I will admit that sometimes teaching your kids all about the how’s and whys of science can seem like a huge daunting task but it doesn’t have to be! Why as of recently, I’ve been teaching my four year old daughter the wonders and ways of magnetism, thanks to a great new science activity set from Learning Resources!
First thing to know is that the Primary Science Magnet Set from Learning Resources is geared toward children ages 4-12 years old. The set comes with 10 double sided activity cards, an extremely helpful guide, and lots of other eye catching items (14 total) that have kept my daughter quite engaged in learning and exploring the many different ways magnets work.
A few of the activities we tried out where the Amazing Maze, in which the key concept was that magnets can retain their magnetic force through other objects. My daughter took the large yellow magnet in the set on moved it around underneath the leaf maze to move both of the included ladybugs! She totally was intrigued and having a lot of fun.

The next activity we did together was the Floating Magnets, in which we used the four round magnets and the long pole. This activity taught my daughter all about how magnets can attract and repel! She was very fascinated by everything that we did and has learned with the set with me during our schooling time and has enjoyed playing with it many times all on her own. My four year old loves to tinker so this set has been a wonderful educational tool in our home giving her the freedom to explore in learning all about polarity, attraction, and repulsion in fun hands on way!
I highly recommend The Primary Science Magnet Set for any home or school classroom. The set is colorful, durable, engaging, and encourages kids to be hands on in learning new things! It’s a great deal for only $29.99 on the Learning Resource Website.

Review: eFoods.com

eFoods Direct is a company that offers traditional freeze-dried and dehydrated food products. This company stands on three basic principles: Serve, Save, and Share. Serve great food and one another, Save for unforeseen circumstances that lie ahead, and Share the message of gaining control of your food supply and be less dependent on others.
My family and I were given the opportunity to try a few meals from eFoods Direct in exchange for our thoughts. We were sent their Tortilla Soup, Cheesy Chicken Rice Casserole, and Creamy Potato Soup. I’ll have to say I was skeptical in how their foods would taste but was pleasantly surprised on how delicious they all equally were! My whole family loved each and every meal we were sent.
e-Foods is totally brag worthy as their meals were all very easy to prepare, basically just add water and cook on the stove for about 20 minutes. I liked that there were also suggestions of things you could add to the meal too though not necessary.

I would, after knowing the benefits and how health savvy eFoods meals are made up be ( Good Source of Fiber; No Trans Fats; No Hydrogenated Oil; No Added MSG; Vegetarian) highly consider stocking up my pantry with several weeks or months worth in case of any unexpected emergency.
There are many different packages to purchase from a weeks worth to a years worth. I recommend each individual interested look over the offerings to see what might be right for their own families. These are great if you are planning a long road trip excursion or a weekend camping trip. And personally they are great for those busy times through out the week when things come up and you just didn’t have the time to throw a healthy meal on the table (We’ve all been there!).
If you are interested in trying out eFoods before investing in a huge package, they have were you can try six meals for free, just pay the 9.95 shipping and handling fee! We highly recommend them!
