Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent {review and giveaway}
From the company: Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent! is non-toxic and environmentally safe with no harmful by-products upon decomposition. Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent rinses away completely leaving no residue on your dishes so you get a clean, safe sparkle.
My Thoughts…
My dishwasher is such a life saver for numerous reasons that I’m going talk about! Number one and possibly the biggest pro is that it saves me so much time of which comes rarely with two kids under the age of three! I kid you not, kid #1 is usually always asking for something and kid number #2 is literally clinging to my leg as I scurry about the house to keep it clean. I did read somewhere that using the dishwasher saves you 180 hours of time a year! And hey, I’ll take all the time I can get to free up for other more important things!
Reason number 2 is that using a dishwasher saves water! When you wash by hand most use about 63 litres. Wow! I know I couldn’t believe it myself. Dishwashers only use around 12 to 16 litres of water. Other reasons include hygiene because the water temperatures are more than adequate for killing all those nasty bugs. I even use it to strip my cloth diapers because of that very reason. They also save money because of the water usage and they decrease clutter. Who really likes to see stacks of dishes on their counter when say you need to prepare for a meal or throw some cookies together! And with all the being said, I’d like to point out my favorite dish detergent from Household Traditions.
Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent is sold from one of my favorite companies Tropical Traditions. It’s sold in a super-size five pound container so you’ll be set for a good long while when it comes to washing the dishes in the dishwasher.
The container itself has a basic screw on lid so it’s best even though it’s non-toxic to keep it out of the reach of the kids! A scoop is included in the container to measure out the exact amount that you will need for a load of dishes. In the instructions on the back, suggestions for how to get those harder to clean dishes clean by soaking for X amount of time are mentioned. This is helpful if you’ve cooked a delicious cheese layered casserole or if you left that pot of spaghetti boil a little too long (hey it happens to the best of us) less scrubbing is a plus!
I’ve used this product several times since receiving it and am very happy with the results! This detergents has left no splotchy or cloudy residue on my dishes which is a common problem I’ve had with other cleaners. It also left no strong or even mild smell that often is the case I usually have had. The product does all it claims and it’s safe for my family and the earth around us.
I encourage you to check out the Household Traditions website. They offer all sorts of non toxic cleaners completely free from chlorine bleach, ammonia, petrochemicals, and VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds). You can never be to careful with children around and plus you are doing yourself and the environment a favor by using them too.
