Hi, my name is Erin. I'm from Georgia but live in Oregon now with my family of four. I've been blessed with a son and daughter ages 5 and 2 1/2 years old. I have been married to my husband for six and a half years now.

I enjoy graphic design, loom knitting, blogging, reading all sorts of books, crafting, exploring the great outdoors, homeschooling my children, and more!

Memories from 2010 and A Look Ahead to 2011

I’m taking the time to reflect upon some of the top things that happened in my own life and families over the span of 2010. I’m quite happy with what I have managed to accomplish and very much look forward to what 2011 holds for me.

Top Events & Happenings from 2010

My husband, myself, and my daughter relocated from apartment living into a duplex for the better! We’ve been very happy living here for the past eight months and hope to continue living here until we can buy our own home in the years to come.

My family and I have made the jump to eat more healthy! We try to buy local and organic when we can and have really been able to see changes in our physical health.

I got pregnant with our second child which will also be our first little boy! He’s due January 12th and he has decided to be a 2011 baby for sure. I’ve felt like I practically spent the entire time of 2010 pregnant and not feeling very well so I totally can’t wait to deliver this baby. lol

I learned how to knit! Over the span of November and December, I’ve been knitting a bunch and hope to not only bless my family but those around with me with my new hobby.

Four years of marriage! I say that’s something to celebrate all in itself!

So do I have any resolutions for 2011?

1. Get through the birth of my second child!

2. Establish a Work Out Routine.

3.  Jump back into Graphic Design.

4. Getting out of debt!

5. Continue to work on my knitting skills!

6. Take time to plan out family get-togethers
( going to the park weekly, a summer trip to the coast, etc…)

7.  Be more Organized!

8. Help Others.

9. Remain Flexible

10. Further my Walk with God by
spending time is His word and applying it to my life continually!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Our Christmas…

Cold and sickness happens and it is quite a bummer that it happens around special events and holidays. I did end up getting a cold too and am just finally in the last stages of it. My husband and daughter are down to the last stages too. I’m just glad we are all on the mend before the New Year and before baby Owen makes his arrival.

Christmas was pretty low key, no major cooking, no huge family get together, and no unwanted drama. My family enjoyed their gifts and we did have Melody’s grandparents and aunt on my husbands side visit for a short time.  My daughter is really enjoying the things she got for Christmas which include a Melissa & Doug Doctor Dress Up Set, A Kaleidoscope, & a Magnadoodle from Mommy and Daddy. She received a Melissa & Doug lacing bead set and a couple Lego Duplo Sets ( Postman & Airplane) from my parents along with an adorable multi colored knit hat. Grandma and Papa Lowmaster brought Melody a Farm Lego Duplo Playset, an Oregon Coast Sweatshirt, and to make it’s arrival soon a hand knit sweater which is almost done! Her Aunt Megan brought her a fun play dough set. All fun gifts which I know she’ll enjoy for quite sometime!

My husband gave me kitchen themed gifts which include a set of Russian Doll measuring cups which stack and those silicone non-stick cupcake baking cups, I can’t wait to start using them! I won on all the gifts I gave him too! He got a new work shirt, a wallet, and the Tron Legacy Soundtrack from me.

I am glad Christmas was low key and we didn’t push it too much mainly because we were sick. I was a little bummed to miss Christmas Eve service at church but there’s always next year.

What are some of your favorite gifts and memories  you received and experienced this Christmas?

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Baby in Box mousepadTwas the day before Christmas and all through my house not giggles and laughter but sadness and spouts of sneezing an coughing. Sadly, my husband and daughter are sick with colds so I’m not sure how tomorrow is going to run. I am pondering waiting on presents and company until maybe Sunday if everyone is feeling better. I’ve so far been spared from the sickness and colds that have been going around lately but I’m being very careful with around two weeks and few days till Owen’s due date.  This mommy is getting plenty of rest and taking her vitamins! I can’t imagine giving birth with a cold present in my system.

Plans change, things fail! I am wondering what to serve up the next few days. The husband was to go grocery shopping today for groceries but not sure he feels well enough.  Tomorrow we were to have a pizza and a side salad for Christmas along with cake and cookies but I think that might have to change.

I’m counting my blessing and praying my family well. I hope everyone else has a wonderful Christmas & a great New Years Day. And if you could, say a little prayer for the Lowmasters today as I would very much appreciate it.
