My17 months old daughter is learning many new things each day. She’s quite the mimic watching and wanting to do everything  that I do! It wasn’t long before I realized that this was the perfect time to introduce her into helping me out in the kitchen. It’s been my dream to teach my daughter the very joys of baking, a fun task that reaps a very tasty reward.

Other fantastic benefits of cooking include the opportunity to teach new skills, to promote self confidence, to encourage imagination and creativity, the opportunity for bonding, and so many more wonderful possibilities!

Curious Chef® is company that I came across when searching for cookware for kids!  They understood that regular sized spatulas, measuring spoons and other cooking ware can be hard for kids to handle and thus created a fantastic amount of kid-friendly utensils made specially for small hands!

I was given the opportunity to review their 26 Pc Holiday Cookie Kit with my daughter. This kit is one of their larger sets that contains:  A Set of 4 Party Hats, 4 Aprons, 6 Piece Measuring Cup Set, 6 Piece Measuring Spoon Set, Non Stick Rolling Pin, Nylon Cookie Turner, and four holiday themed cookie cutters ( gingerbread man, an angel, a star, and a Christmas tree).

The colors incorporated into the set I was sent are very eye-catching with many vibrant tones that children will love. My daughter was extremely excited when I pulled a chair over to the table to ready her for a new fun experience in helping mommy out! I first put on her apron to keep her clothes clean and then I asked my daughter to place her hat on. The hats are a lot of fun for kids as you can add your child’s name or you can have your child write it him or herself, as well as color it with crayons.

The 26 Pc Holiday Cookie Kit had absolutely everything you needed to make cookies except for the cookie dough itself. If you need a recipe, they  feature a simple to follow Sugar Cookie recipe on the side of the kit itself. We choose instead to make Gingerbread cookies this time. Next time we will try out the sugar cookie recipes since we just purchased a lot of fantastic colored sugar sprinkles and other fun cookie decorations for this holiday season!

My daughter and I had a fantastic time bonding and I really enjoyed teaching her new skills in the kitchen. She was taking everything in like a little sponge. Melody had a lot of fun and was very careful in making sure she did every thing as I fashioned. She’s so smart!
