16 months old

100_239316 months old now and there’s no signs of her slowing down. The world is so fascinating and she’s been wanting to explore every area of it, even if she has to pull chairs around and get on top of tables and counter tops. This time of my daughter’s life is very enjoyable but also pretty tiring to try to keep up with sometimes.

We went to the park on Sunday to enjoy the nice weather we’ve been having. Melody had a ball, running here and there, she really took to the playground equipment! She was all over the structure and enjoyed going up and down the slide all on her own! It was really enjoyable to watch but inside of me I was like my sweet little Melody is no longer my little baby! She’s a full fledged toddler ready to take on the world!

This afternoon Melody and I sat watching her ABC dvd together. I was so proud and surprised when she started repeating some of the words shown like Kitten for example! Before I know it, she’ll be talking my ear off huh?

We spent this evening coloring on paper together. It was Melody’s first time and she really enjoyed it. Yes, she decided to taste the Crayons! Good thing those are non toxic! We will have to try finger paint sometime soon…

Boon Bath Toys Review and Giveaway (CLOSED)

BoonLogoTag_RGB
I’ve been a fan of Boon’s products for quite sometime and am thrilled today to bring you a review and giveaway on several of  their latest bath toys. What’s stand out the most for me about the products that Boon carries is that they are very colorful, appealing to the eye with their fun funky designs, and adorably cute. Let’s not forget also that they BPA, PVC, and  Phthalate Free ( very important in the safety of your children!). For the high quality you are getting with Boon products, it’s great to know that these toys are easy on your pocket book.

Out of Boon’s generosity, I am reviewing with the help of my fifteen month old daughter,  Odd Duck Jane, Splat Floating Ring Toss, and the Water Bugs Floating Bath Toys with Net.

My daughter loves taking baths! She would be in the tub for hours if I let her! When I introduced these new toys to play with in the tub, she was ecstatic!  Currently we had bought her squirt toys from Target to play with in the tub but as of lately, it’s been hard to keep those clean and the paint has started peeling off! As a mom, I started fearing lead paint and who knows what else, all I knew is my daughter needed some better bath toys and thankfully I have found those in Boon!

oddDuck_953My Thought on Odd Duck Jane

She’s cute, fun, and funky! She’s not squishy like other ducks but this means she is easier to clean! Who wants toys that can contain water on the inside of mold and mildew? Certainly not me!

This duck is a hit with my daughter! She loves ducks and quacks at the site of them, thanks to me. Jane is a fun bath toys for kids of all ages. She floats around exceptionally well in the tub and I bet she would be a lot of fun to play with in a kiddy pool too!

splat_911My Thoughts on Splat Floating Ring Toss

The Splat and the three rings included look so cool! How neat is it that the base for the rings looks like a splash? All the parts of this toy float around on top of the water making for a fun game! My daughter hasn’t quite grasped the whole toss the ring game yet, but in time she will get there. She did have a lot of fun taking the rings off of this toys and stacking them back on. She also has four molers coming in right now so the rings have been used in the bath as something to teeth on.

waterBugs_931My Thought on the Water Bugs Floating Bath Toys with Net

The Water Bugs is my daughters favorite Boon bath toy! This toys comes with an easy to handle mesh net to capture the three colorful bugs that glide so easily above the water in the tub! My daughter loves to capture all the little bugs in the net and after she does, she goes yay and claps for her accomplishments (it’s so cute!)! My daughter literally likes  these little bugs so much that she constantly tries to sneak them out of the bathroom!

Final Thoughts:
I highly recommend Boon Bath Toys to all who are looking for safe, easy to clean, contemporary and fun toys for the children in your life! I’m including a video below of my daughter playing with her Boon Bath Toys in the tub.

Book Description
We live in a world that all too often operates under the overriding template of self-promotion, embracing a “hooray for me” attitude, and which measures success in increasingly small timeframes dotted with markers of temporal value.

Millions of viewers know James Brown as a sports commentator and former athlete. With ROLE OF A LIFETIME, James reveals a different side of his character. Brown rose from a middle-class home to earn a scholarshipto Havard and a chance at a professional sports career before moving on to broadcast jouranlism. Part memoir and part self-help, this book draws on James’ lessons from his faith and life experiences to guide readers to find fulfillment and significance. He offers values and encouragment to others of all generations, assisting them in their search for meaning in navigating a world that increasingly promotes transient values, if any at all. His message that shortcuts and gimmicks are counterproductive to a person’s success provides hope that there is a God who cares about them and their futures.

About the Author
James Brown graduated from Harvard in 1973 with a degree in American Government. He resides in Bethesda, MD with his wife, Dorothy. His daughter, Katrina, and husband, John Walker, reside in New Jersey with their daughter Kaela.
