Thought Filled Thursday

I’m due a personal post, huh? It’s been a very trying week. I guess the plus side is that it seemed to go by pretty quickly. I’ m sitting here trying to think of all that I accomplished and either it wasn’t very much or I’m too tired to recall it all.

My daughter Melody had labs done this week and what usually isn’t to bad of a visit was one I hope to never have to deal with again. The first nurse was not able to get any blood out of my daughters arm and another nurse was called when she failed. The next nurse tried Melody’s other arm and again was not able to get any blood to come out. They then tried the top of her hands and my poor baby had enough. I held my tongue…it was so hard seeing my daughter in that pain. She was a little trooper through it all. I am asking people to pray that her redraw of labs this coming Tuesday is quick and fast. We are not sure why no blood was coming out and the nurse kept asking if she was hydrated. As far as I know, I gave her as much fluid as she would take that day because I knew they’d be drawing blood.

I’m hoping to see the results of my daughter’s blood, as soon as possible. I am wondering if her recent behavioral changes have anything to do with the need to take less a dose of her medication. She hasn’t been taking naps lately and has been pretty wound up. If she is getting too much of her medicine, this can cause hyperactivity. But in knowing this, it would be a blessing if my daughter’s medicine dosage drops, meaning that eventually she won’t have to take medication for the rest of her life.

My husband and I have prayerfully considered becoming life group leaders at our church this fall. Our goal is simple, we want to reach upward, reach inward, reach out, and reach forward. I’m very excited about what God has in store for us. God calls us to be witness’s to those around us and growing together as sons and daughters of God is key in furthering the kingdom! ( I have a lot to say on this topic, regarding life groups…but let’s save that for another post).

It’s getting late now and the baby is now resting… I better get a shower while I can.

I pray that your daughters medication requirement is eliminated. And I will pray for easier blood draws. Ask for the butterfly needle (I know I said ask but what I really mean is insist on the butterfly needle) …only the really experienced nurses can use them (they require extra training) and they really are easier on the little ones.
