Neutrogena® Pure & Free™ Baby Sunblock SPF 60+

100_8534

As a member of  BzzAgent, I was invited to review Neutrogena® Pure & Free™ Baby Sunblock SPF 60+. The timing I received this opportunity was truly impeccable as here in Oregon, the rainy season  just ended!

My bzz kit included:

  • 1 full size Neutrogena® Pure & Free™ Baby Sunblock SPF 60+ Lotion
  • 1 sample Neutrogena® Pure & Free™ Baby Sunblock SPF 60+ Lotion
  • Several sunblock coupons to pass along to my family and friends
  • Bzz Guide on all the information about this sunscreen

A day at the park in full on sun was in order to properly test this product out. Before heading out, I applied an even coating of this lotion to every exposed area of skin on my eleven month old daughter.  I found to my liking that this lotion went on very easily!  It wasn’t overly thick and spread on very nicely. No oily or greasy residue was left compared to other sunscreen lotions I’ve used in the past.

This works wonderfully as my daughter was in and out of full sun for around 3-4 hours and there was not one sign of burning on her incredibly soft and sensitive baby skin. I actually learned that a baby’s skin is 10 times more sensitive to the environment around them. So as a mom I want make sure I’m protecting my daughter in any way that I can.

After trying the 3 oz sunscreen lotion, I’m quite eager to try the .47 0z stick form, which I hear is great to apply to faces and ears. I have an infant and  know how much a challenge putting anything on or wiping things off can be! This is also the perfect size to just throw in my purse or smaller sized diaper bag because I never know when I just might need it!

Some other great facts about this product is that:

* Contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, naturally sourced sunscreen ingredients
* Provides broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection
* Hypoallergenic
* Fragrance free
* PABA free
* Waterproof and sweatproof

The Scoop

“As a pediatric dermatologist I educate my patients that sun damage can occur at any age and babies may be even more susceptible to sun damage. That’s why I recommend a variety of sunprotective measures: clothing and hats, shade seeking, awareness of the peak times of the day that cause sun damage, as well proper application of a physical sunblock, such as Neutrogena® Pure & Free™ Baby.”
Dr. Lawrence F. Eichenfield Professor of Pediatrics and Dermatology, University of California, San Diego

Where do I find it?

While you’ll sometimes find it in the baby care section, check the sunscreen aisle first. I can personally get it $9.99- 11.99 at my local target store.

Overall Results:

I’m at ease knowing there’s a sunblock protector from a company I know and trust.
