TGIF?
I’m going to try out several products tonight when I do some grocery shopping that you’ll be seeing upcoming reviews and giveaways on.
I realize I forgot to write up a meal plan Monday this week. Oh, I’m sure it was because my husband was off from work and we weren’t home that day. Meals have kinda just been thrown together this week. I’m going to do better next week, promise! I did make home-made pizza again yesterday and gave the sauce a kick…tasted much better this time. Wow, I love my bread machine, it makes tossing together some dough so simple. What’s great is I can make a bunch, freeze it, and have it for a later time.
Hah to those who saw my twitter post that said ” To Hell With It All”… please excuse me on that. I’ve been pretty moody all week and some people have given me one or two more reason to be so. I had to ask God for forgiveness, lol. I try not to vent in my blog post but maybe I should instead of self containing. I’m sure my readers wouldn’t mind as long as I didnt’ make a habit of it… and I’m sure most can relate to my “issues” in some way or another.
My Dad’s birthday is coming up on Sunday! My mom will have to take pictures of what I got him so I can share and plug the good souls who made the gift I gave him possible. I’m sure he’ll really love it and I can’t wait for him to recieve it because he has no idea I sent something. I love that my Dad is having Banana Pudding instead of cake too. Banana Pudding is totally the bees knees!
My oldest sister is moving up to Rhode Island today…and she’s traveling with two little ones. I said a prayer for them as I know traveling with small children can be trying at times I’m sure. Mine has never acted up on the road so I can’t say I relate. She’s moving from Norfolk, VA to RI… not too long a trip but long enough! My Sister is Loving Heart Mommy for those wondering. Yes, she’s an OC Blogger too.
I’ve got a leapin’ leprechaun graphic to work on so I’ll chat with y’all later.
Child Proofing
I’m big on baby proofing my home. Did you know that accidental injury is the number one killer of children ages 14 and younger. I know some people may say, “When my kids were younger they learned not touch things and I told them no and they understood”. I say you don’t get second chances and I they are taking a lazy approach to it. I mean I grew up in a house of five sisters, we all touched things we weren’t supposed too even if we were told not to. What toddler isn’t going to want to touch the pretty vase of flowers on the table or knock potential knickknacks on top of themselves, to just name a few. I respect people that think of my child when I am visiting by picking up here are there and taking precautions. I tend to not take my child places that I know are not going to be safe for her. That’s why if I ever have someone watch my child, it’s going to be in my own home.
Teaching children about safety and responsibility is a part of child rearing, but that alone will not keep children safe. You cannot rely on your child’s obedience to your rules to keep him or her safe. It simply isn’t worth the risk. If every child did this, we’d all be pretty perfect!
This is more than a little issue, it’s a huge issue! My children and their safety will always be a huge issue.
It does become stressful when you have to visit other people’s houses when you know their house is full of tempting things for your child. Like my mother in laws home, it’s a huge no no for my daughter. There’s so many places where she can get hurt and get into. There’s a coffee table in the living room full of books and magazines, there’s several shelves in the living room with knickknacks on it, tape and videos on the floor in an easy access to a toddler, and ahhh and so many other things that put me on edge. I’m so lucky that the life group that I attend has a baby safe home, because I can rest assured that my little one isn’t in any danger and I can focus on getting into the Word.
So, here’s my question to you mom’s out there, what do you do to baby proof, and what do you let your family know about baby-proofing their homes or have they already done so thinking of your child as well.
I recently have a giveaway promoting the safety of children here, so be sure to check it out.

Baby Banz Review

I am so excited that I was given the opportunity to review Baby Banz! Basically, Baby Banz Inc is a company that offers a complete line of sun protection products to keep both babies and kids protected from head to toe.
I couldn’t have received these sunglasses for my daughter at a better time. I had just swapped out her old car seat with the sun shade with a new one with out a shade. She loved her new car seat but would get quite cranky because when coming back home from our outings, the sun would be directly in her face! Baby Banz was a real help to me as the sunglasses protected my daughter’s eyes from the sun’s harsh rays with its 100% uv protection. They saved me a ride home without a cranky baby!
A few things I like about these glasses are that they fasten with adjustable Velcro around my child’s head so there’s no issue with falling off and I don’t have to worry about my little one pinching her fingers.
I love my daughters Pink Diva Camo Baby Banz and from my photos, you can see that my little one loves them too!
There is a limited warranty good for 6 months if they break!
For an added bonus all the frames are BPA and Phthalate free! That way your little one is safe if they start to nibble on them because we just know that’s going to happen.
My daughter can wear her Baby Banz sunglasses up until she is two, then she can graduate to the next sizes which are offered all the way up to age 10! I know it’s going to be hard for me to pick out her next pair because they come in a huge variety of colors!
Some specs from Baby Banz Sunglasses:
•Lenses 100% UVA/ UVB protection
•Durable polycarbonate
•Ophthalmic quality; capable of being replaced with prescription lenses
•Strap: Neoprene elastic band matches chosen color of sunglasses
•Allows for flexibility, breath ability, and comfort
•Side adjustable Velcro® allows for years of wear as the child grows
•Sporty, sleek design
I’m recommending these to anyone who wants to keep their kid safe whether you are at the park, beach, ski slope, or just in the backseat of your car.
