TGIF? It’s been a good week and I am very much pleased with that. I got a bit of art done, I upgraded my wardrobe ( it was much needed), I’ve been getting together baby things to swap at church, my husband got hired at his job… all in all a good week.

My husband is no longer a temp ( had been for 9 months)! He got hired where he works at today! Now no more worries! We will finally have the benefits of insurance and everything! It took a while but God answers prayer! We need to celebrate some how! Yay!

I believe now more than ever before, that we need to be saving our money! Look how economy has gotten… just this year we’ve nearly had to pay $5.00 for a gallon of gas and the price of food has also gone up a bit! That’s why we need to be reevaluating our purchases and looking to see where we can even just save dollars if even not that pennies! Money is money and even if you are saving a little next to a lot that’s better than nothing!

I wish my family taught me how to handle money a lot better… don’t get me wrong, I haven’t been going around blowing it on things because I always knew it was better to have savings and not to blow it on useless stuff that’s just going to deteriorate over time. I just wish I knew the ends and outs better! I wish I knew how to create and stick to budget.

Well when my husband and I found out we were pregnant with my daughter we were a stick in the mud, so to speak! My husband was struggling to pay his bills and we had no health insurance! I was super stressed out but thanks to our church family, we were helped out in a big way and now we are back on track with little if any debt!

So, some of the ways we save money are as follows:

1. We use coupons when shopping off or online!
2. I wash laundry one a week instead of several times
3. I use sunlight instead of having our lights on to waste energy during the day
4. I turn off and unplug appliances and computers when not in use
5. We try not to make to many trips out of town if not needed…saves on gas!
6. Paying bills on time is a big one… we don’t need the extra fees!
