A couple of weeks ago, my family and I made it to the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival. This visit was our 7th! I didn’t spend a long time there since it was a long weekend and it was following getting up earlier and out the door for church ( I typically go on Saturdays and not Sundays but something else came up). We headed up after church since we were halfway there from our new home. We took lunch and walked around for a bit. Lots of inspiration for my own fiber related projects.

“The solar eclipse of August 21, 2017 was a total eclipse visible within a band across the entire contiguous United States, passing from the Pacific to the Atlantic coasts”.- Wikipedia
We are sporting the Celestron ISO Certified, 2017 North American Total Solar Eclipse EclipSmart 2x Power Viewers Solar Observing Kit that I purchased from Amazon in June.I wanted to make sure I got the glasses before they sold out. I did research to make sure the glasses were legit too. I am so glad I did because there was a big recall on a bunch of different glasses that would not protect your eyes properly. I’m hoping everyone caught on to the recall! You have to be so careful when viewing an eclipse!
We spent the weekend camping with friends. We only traveled about 40 minutes from home to a campground called Promontory Park located in Estacada Oregon. It’s a few days later but we are still feeling the effects it had into our daily routine. The kids eat less and don’t rest as much because of all the excitement plus my oldest always gets bad car sickness if we travel more than 15 minutes or so down the road. There and back she got sick even with the cold air blowing and sitting in the front seat. We have come to the assumption we are just going to have to give her Dramamine® for Kids for future further adventures down the road and to always wear Seabands.
Last month, my family and I made our annual trip to the local fiber festival. This year the festival was celebrating its 20th year! I always enjoy going to see the sights! I’ll admit I haven’t done very many fiber crafts this year. Adjusting to the baby has been trying at times but it’s gotten better. I did manage to knit her a rose pink Sandoval hat to keep her little noggin warm during the Fall and Winter season. She hasn’t tried to take the hat off so I’m pretty sure she likes it!
Coffee Girl located on Pier 39 in Astoria, Oregon was recommend to me by a fellow homeschooler and blogging friend I know through Facebook! I love connecting with people and finding out about neat places to visit! I had a great experience visiting this place with my family! We almost missed getting coffee though as Coffee Girl is open early in the morning and closes late afternoon (4pm). If you plan on going, please keep that in mind.
