The Gospel-Centered Mom: The Freeing Truth About What Your Kids Really Need has been a breath of fresh air. This isn’t a book on how to change or shape your child or children but instead, it points us toward putting our full focus on God. In doing so, everything else falls into place as we become how God intended for us to be. In remembering as well as learning these truths and how they apply to our lives, we grow to become a Godly Christ-centered example to those around us.

I had been looking for a jacket/coat that I wouldn’t have to give up wearing after I’ve had my baby and the search has been tedious! I got suggestions from friends and family to buy a size larger of what I would normally wear to accommodate my bump but in being petite in size those option left me swimming in a too heavy, too long, largely frumpy coat. So what’s a girl to do? Break down and get a maternity coat that I’d likely only wear for 3-4 months? I just didn’t feel the investment was a friend to my budget. I am sure most would agree that in buying a good quality coat that the quantity of use should last for a good amount of time not merely a few months.
Mom’s are pretty diverse but they all have one things in common and that is caring for their children . The stories in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Thanks to My Mom are as diverse as mothers themselves. There are stories of hope, determination, life lessons, and so forth. I guarantee if you pick up this title that you’ll laugh, cry, smile, deeply resonate, be encouraged as a mother, and feel appreciation for the ones that mothered you in life whether biological or not.
From the producers of October Baby comes a faith-based message and hysterically funny comedy that your whole family will enjoy! Allyson and her friends just want a peaceful, grown-up evening of dinner and conversation – a long-needed Moms’ Night Out. But in order to enjoy high heels, adult conversation and food not served in a paper bag, they need their husbands to watch the kids for three hours… what could go wrong?
Mom’s Night Out, is a movie I believe everyone mom should see. I found myself nodding my head, laughing out loud, and even shedding a tear or two. This movie is a comedy but it certainly tugs at the heart strings reminding Mom’s that even when it seems hard that God has got our backs. Too often as mom’s we play the comparison game and put extremely high expectations on ourselves instead of falling into our roles naturally. This movie gives hope, encouragement, and reminds of the real reason why we do what we do and to not lose sight of that.
The all-star cast includes Sarah Drew, Sean Astin, Patricia Heaton and Trace Adkins. The cast works together great and the vast array of character gives us many different perspectives in fun and often hilarious way. I really liked watching all the bonus features and hearing from their heart of what this movie was to them and about their parts in it. If you see this movie, I really recommend taking the time to see all the features too.
I can’t wait to get a group of girlfriends together for a Mom’s movie night in to watch this flick. It’s highly relate-able (the main character is a Mom blogger) and I will probably watch it many times more. Though, if husbands want to see this movie as well, it would probably go over well. It caught the eye of my husband with all the action and antics! Totally a movie for the whole family. Runtime is 98 minutes and the rating is PG.
