I’ve been reading though The One Year Home and Garden Devotions since the first of January. What drew me to this book was the fact it mentions the word garden and home in the title. I adore gardening and I’m striving to be a better homemaker. I figured a book (especially a Christ-centered devotional) revolving around these two aspects would be a the perfect read with plenty of practical applications for someone like me.

We’ve been working on getting our home organized one room at a time! In the kitchen, we invested in under the sink trash and recyclable bins for starters to free up walking space. But we still needed a place for our mops, brooms and other cleaning tools. For the last year have been leaning against the wall and preventing us from opening four of our cabinets easily. When an opportunity to review a Mop and Broom holder came up, I jumped at the chance to share our thoughts on it!
If you are looking for a way to add pizzazz to your table settings whether indoor or out, I would recommend checking out H.P Designs, a company that specializes in high-end beautifully monogrammed and decorative laminated place-mats of all kinds. I know as I’ve gotten older, I’ve wanted to start collecting long lasting items for hosting and enjoying in my home. These place mats have been wonderful and I think everyone should have their own special set!
This November I have many things to be thankful for. And one of the newest and quite big things is our new residence. We signed rental agreements eleven days ago on this place and officially moved completely over on 11-12-13. This by far was not our easiest move, in fact one of our most challenging due to short notice and not more friends and family members available to help us. But we did it! Our previous place was super clean and in good enough shape that we’ll receive money on our deposit back!
Interesting bit of history is that since being married (almost 7 years in a few more weeks!) , my husband and I have moved a number of five times. And before I was married was more than can be counted on two hands and both feet. This place is a little smaller than our last place. Though, no complaints as I have always wanted my own little home with a fenced in yard with room for the kids to play. I’ll finally have that room for small vegetable garden and darling little flowerbed. God has given me the desires of my heart (Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.- Psalm 37:4) and I can’t do anything but sing His praise on that.
The kids are thrilled and would spend every waking hour outdoors if I let them. Having our own bit of earth is going to be fantastic for homeschooling and so much more. I’m visualizing a round or two of croquet in the yard would be fun. I’m also seeing a tent pitched on a warm summer evening for some fun backyard camping adventures! Kids need to be outside, they need to explore and discover and see the wonders all around them. This yard is going to give them more than they know and even more for me to share and teach them about hands-on. Oh, some wonderful memories are to be made…. now off I go to keep unpacking. The aim is to get it all done before the week of Thanksgiving!

I totally adore the Freshware Flower Silicone Reusable Baking Cups! These cups are sold in a set of 12 and mine had six in the color black and the other six were red. The flower shape just screams bake something delicious and show it off! These totally have turned my ordinary muffins into something a little more fun ( especially when kids are involved!). Though these aren’t limited to just muffins, I’ve been using them to freeze leftover coffee to make delicious iced drinks too! The possibilities are pretty endless with a product that can withstand heat up to +446 Fahrenheit and cold around -40 degrees.
