The Guess How Much I Love you series by best-selling author Sam McBratney have been some of my favorite books to read to both my children! What’s exciting is that my kids can enjoy the book series inspired animated adventures of Little Nutbrown Hare on DVD . I don’t know about you, but I find something magical about seeing my favorite storybook characters come to life on screen and this feature doesn’t disappoint!

Disney’s The Lone Ranger is an exciting tale full of action and adventure from start to finish! If you like westerns, chances are you’ll probably want to pick up this family friendly flick (though please note the pg -13 rating )! I’m pretty happy with the results of the film paying its proper homage having grown up watching the re-runs of the original 1950’s tv shows.
The movie starts with a young boy from the 1930’s listening to a tale told by Tonto about the Lone Ranger. We learn the the amusing yet also very serious story of how the duo came to be. I have heard some say there wasn’t enough back story or character development but I think for the high action and adventure expected there was plenty enough in the two hour and twenty minutes of run-time.
The Preschool Pop Game Bundle by Learning Resources is a creative and colorful set of learning games fashioned to look like a container of bubbles. This bundle promotes skills that are taught in preschool as well as in Kindergarten. The four separate games included feature colors, counting, rhyming, and shapes. Though this set says preschool, it’s geared and recommended toward children ages 3-6 years old.
If you are on the hunt for a genuinely unique gift for a friend or loved one this holiday season, I highly recommend checking out Novica. Novica is a fair trade company that works with National Geographic to give artists and artisans a way to share and express their talents with the world! They offer all sorts of hand crafted unique one of a kind items such as home decor, jewelry, clothing, accessories, and so much more. In purchasing an item of any kind, you’ll get to opportunity to learn who you are buying from, what possibly inspired the item, and what country the artist calls home. A truly special gift to receive as well knowing it brings joy to the artisan to know their work is favored!
I recently shopped the Novica store front and came across a beautiful bag! The Assam Constellation Cotton Embroidered Shoulder Bag from India is truly a wonderful gift to proudly call my own! It features crimson constellations of geometrical patterns that come together so well. From Manjuri Hazarika, the patterns are achieved on the hand-loom and replicate those on traditional Assamese sarongs, known as mekhala. The shoulder bag is fully lined and has a zipper-top pocket, as well as a cell phone compartment. Closes with a sheeshamwood button. I’m very happy with this bag and imagine a lot of other ladies would be too!
Shopping at Novica makes gifting to others easy! How so? Gift wrapping, that’s is stunning yet affordable as well! Most of their gift wrap costs about $3.95 – $5.95 per item and they provide premium gift wrap for gifts from the regions – India, Thailand, and Bali! Though do note that many of the items arrive with free gift wrap it just depends on what item it is.
I personally can say that the gift wrapping is very professionally done! And I’ll have to admit I am not one to opt for gift wrapping because I can usually do it myself. But with Novica’s affordable prices and gorgeous wrapping job, I’m willing to with go the whole do it myself. Not to mention it’s a huge time saver when we often can’t find a spare minute around the Holiday season!
If you are not sure where to start when shopping at Novica know there are popular categories to browse that include gifts for her, gifts for him and gifts for the romantic. I personally love checking out the housewares, jewelry, and handbag categories personally. I assure you there’s some wonderful item to be found for anyone just waiting to be discovered!

I don’t know about you, but I really enjoy getting new accessories for my hair. Too often there’s not a whole lot of pizazz going on with hair, I’ll admit. Being a mom of two little ones under the age of five years old more time is spent getting them ready and out the door than myself! Thus you’ll 90% of the time see me sporting a pony tail. But, hey my pony tail or other means to pull up my hair doesn’t have to be boring, by any means!
scünci is a company that offers all sorts of fantastic stylish hair accessories! They are totally one of my tops picks when finding that extra special little styling accessory when it’s called for. I’ve been using their products for years and all have stood the test of time in being long lasting!
Chances are if you have crafty daughter or son, you’ve heard about or at least seen some pretty cool rubber band jewelry worn by them or possibly their peers. Rubber-band jewelry is like the new friendship bracelet that I remember making in my pre-teen to teen years. These cool accessories that can be customized in so many ways are pretty awesome and if you ask me, I don’t see them going out of style anytime soon!
Recently, I was given the opportunity to check out the craft book Totally Awesome Rubber Band Jewelry written by Colleen Dorsey and published at Design Originals. This book let me tell you, is a must have if you have or plan on gifting either a Rainbow Loom, Cra-Z-Loom, Fun-Loom, or another similar one to those to make rubber band accessories. Though if you already have one and looking for some great pattern ideas, you’ll want to grab a copy of this title.
