I admit that parenting can be really hard. Some days it’s wonderful and other days I really hate it. There’s so many sources out there and everyone is willing to chime in to give advice that it’s enough to make ones head spin. David Tripp’s book “Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family” differs from the rest because it gives us advice taken straight from the gospel. Instead of scratching our heads and feeling hopeless we’ll instead be encouraged, inspired, relieved, and hopeful knowing our Father God has a plan.

All Things Bright and Beautiful is book based upon the hymn written by Cecil Frances Alexander in 1848. This isn’t a story by word but by illustrations. The words in the book are the hymn word by word. The watercolor illustrations are simply sweet to the soul and delightful to the eyes. I’m forever pleased with this children’s book not because the reminiscence it brings to me but by the fact I can share the glory and majesty of God with my children in such a wonderful way.
Still Laughing After All These Tears the special edition collection, has put a smile on my face, tears in my eyes, and brought me to reflect upon all the goodness the Lord promises his children. Life has been a little tough lately, but knowing I can turn to wholesome Christian entertainment on those tough days really helps! Chonda delivers laugh after laugh through song, skit, and stand-up but not without tying all back to the Lord. She keeps it clean and she keeps it real! Many of the stories are relate-able like about being a mom, wife, church kid, but not all. She’s lives a very interesting life and it’s been fun seeing where she pulls her material from. She never gets old but more and more entertaining over the years.
Art, Coloring, and doodle books seem to be all the rage right now. I love drawing, coloring, and all sorts of forms of art so this recent boom has been a thrilling thing to see. Aside from doodling and coloring I adore the books that push one to physically create something completely new. Art is so wonderful because often one will create something they never knew that they could. For instance I tried out watercolor early this year and had no idea how much I would enjoy it! I just stared at a blank canvas and went with whatever came to my mind. The results weren’t what I was expecting in the sense that I thought I would be rubbish but something far better.
I’m excited that Wendy Piersall has a new coloring book out! Her latest book is full of designs one may come across in their dreams as they rest on their pillow for the night or when going about their day. I’m so happy to have been able to get my hands on a copy! I’ve been finding time throughout my busy Fall schedule to make time for a bit of coloring this book here and there.
Rawr! Crash! Boom! Are all phrases I’ve been hearing from across the room quite often. In our house it can only mean that my adventurous, fun-loving little boy is building things up and crashing things down with some sorta creature in tow. He will take just about anything that’s lying around and make something simply amazing. No bells, whistles, lights or other prompts to get him started. His imaginative adventures are always so intriguing and I’m glad he often likes to include me in on them.
In the past, I’ve mentioned the Dino Construction Company here on my blog. Those neat dino toys that also double as construction vehicles have lasted for many years. Each toy still remains a few of my sons absolute favorites to play with both in and outdoors. I’m excited to share that there are a few new toys in this line which stick to a similar theme but are smaller in size. We were sent two about a month ago to share our thoughts and experiences on.
