Amy Grant’s newest album “Tennessee Christmas” is a great listen! Her vocals are spot on and I love the fact that even her husband joins her on one of the songs! Aside from well known classic favorites, Amy also features songs she wrote from her own holiday experiences. I really like the fact she decided to share with fans her heart. I know many of us can relate to her written thoughts and feelings alive in song during this time of year.

I’ve seen people create beautiful works of art in their Bibles. Pinterest and Instagram are full of post after post of Bible journaling pictures. One could spend a good amount of time browsing such masterpieces. Being an artist myself, I felt inspired to do my own. I feel this new fad is a wonderful way to spotlight and make stories and verses that speak to me come to life in a way that means something to me. However, I wasn’t exactly sure what types of pens, pencils, or other mediums and embellishments to use to get started.
Where Jesus Slept by Norma Lewis will no doubt be a book I reach to read to my children every Christmas Season. I adore the way it is written which starts with one element/person/animal, adds something else, goes backward, and adds something new again on the next page. The cycle the words go in make this book a fun and excellent participatory retelling for littles ones to enjoy. I imagine with multiple readings the story will eventually be memorized!
If you have a craft loving kid, they are sure to be a fan of Stuck on Fun! Play with Patterns, Sticker Tape, and More! by Jannie Ho. This great offering is perfect for children ages five years old and up. When I was a child I spent hours cutting and pasting together paper dolls from books and magazines which proved fun but over time my dolls wore out or didn’t stand up to all the glue. These punch-out characters are a great sturdy option to flimsy paper dolls!
I admit that parenting can be really hard. Some days it’s wonderful and other days I really hate it. There’s so many sources out there and everyone is willing to chime in to give advice that it’s enough to make ones head spin. David Tripp’s book “Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family” differs from the rest because it gives us advice taken straight from the gospel. Instead of scratching our heads and feeling hopeless we’ll instead be encouraged, inspired, relieved, and hopeful knowing our Father God has a plan.
