Slow Cooker Desserts by Jonnie Downing

Slow Cooker Desserts by Jonnie Downing has me excited about using my crockpot for more than just main courses. I absolutely love the idea of having a dessert going in the slow cooker. In cooking in this way, it frees me up from having my oven running all day and overheating the house! I honestly had no idea so many delicious goodies could be cooked in such a manner. Most of the recipes found in this cookbook take minimal prep work and need little if any checking on before ready to enjoy!   Continue reading

Meals in a Jar Quick and Easy, Just-Add-Water, Homemade Recipes

Meals in a Jar Quick and Easy, Just-Add-Water, Homemade Recipes By Julie Languille covers what one would need to know about preparedness and long term food storage. Aside from that quirk, this book does have much to offer someone whether they are cooking for a large family or stocking up their pantry for any number of reasons.  Continue reading

The Berenstain Bears’ Holiday Cookbook {Review}

The Berenstain Bears’ Holiday Cookbook is a fantastic offering for children and families of all ages, especially if you are fans of the series. This cookbook is full of delicious holiday themed recipes that are totally kid-appealing.  My two oldest children ages 8 and 5 are very interested in what’s going on in the kitchen. I took it upon myself more recently to allow them to view and participate in making and preparing snacks and meals for themselves as well as for the entire the family. This cookbook is perfect for my children as it gives fresh ideas and fun approaches not just in what shall be tasted but in what appeals to the eye as well .  Continue reading
