Old Fashioned {DVD Review}

A romantic-drama, OLD FASHIONED centers on Clay Walsh, a former frat boy who gives up his reckless carousing and now runs an antique shop in a small Midwestern college town. There, he has become notorious for his lofty and outdated theories on love and romance as well as for his devout belief in God. When Amber Hewson, a free-spirited young woman with a restless soul, drifts into the area and rents the apartment above his shop, she finds herself surprisingly drawn to his strong faith and noble ideas, which are new and intriguing to her. And Clay, though he tries to fight and deny it, simply cannot resist being attracted to her spontaneous and passionate embrace of life. Ultimately, Clay must step out from behind his relational theories and Amber must overcome her own fears and deep wounds as the two of them, together, attempt the impossible: an “old-fashioned” and God-honoring courtship in contemporary America.

Devotions from the Garden: Finding Peace and Rest in Your Busy Life #bookreview

Devotions from the Garden: Finding Peace and Rest in Your Busy Life By Miriam Drennan is a beautiful book. I was drawn right away to this devotional because find great joy and take rest in gardening. Gardening concepts tied to scripture reading can offer one deep reflection upon the path taken in life with God. A garden is where humans first began fellowship with God and in knowing this I feel there’s no better a center than a garden to revolve a devotional book around.

The Beginner’s Bible: Stories About Jesus {Book Review}

The Beginner’s Bible – Stories About Jesus Board Book is a good choice for children ages 3-6 years old. This book follows the life of Jesus from his birth to the resurrection.  There are seven stories total with each ranging from 2-4 pages long. The style of the illustrations is in cartoon format with bold colors that certainly draw the eye of a young child. This book is a bit beyond my six year old daughter content wise but my four year old son has brought it over for me to read to him a few times.  He loves pointing out the stories he already knew.  I appreciate that the text was easy enough for him to understand and keep his attention.

Growing in Grace Sing and Play Activity Kit {Review & $10 Gift Certificate from Family Christian}

I received Growing in Grace Sing and Play Activity Kit for review purposes as a Family Christian Blogger. No other compensation was received. Affiliate links are included in this post.

I’ve been on the look out for things that my children can do whether at home or on the go that can nurture and grow their Faith in God. Specifically, around this time I start collection a little of this and that to bring along during our family vacation for the year. Things I tend to gather include coloring books, card games, stickers, a minimal number of art supplies,  and a few music albums I believe they’ll enjoy listening to when riding in the car for several hours.
