The ALEX® Toys – Craft Tres Chic Designer Look Book {Review}

The ALEX® Toys – Craft Tres Chic Designer Look Book has been a great introduction to scrap-booking for my nearly six year old daughter. My daughter adores dressing fashionably as well as doing arts and crafts in her free time. This book has opened a world of opportunity in adding too and expressing the creative streak she already has. I learned my daughter actually has a good eye for pattern matching, color choosing, and fun fashionable outfit looks!

Smithsonian Folkways distills the genius of America’s ‘First Lady of Children’s Music:’
Ella Jenkins: 123s and ABCs available January 28th

Ella Jenkin’s has quite the way with words, song, and grasping the attention of listeners. I know my three year old son has certainly enjoyed listening, learning, getting up and moving, and singing along with her latest album! There are a lot of great songs here and some are presented in English, Spanish, Swahili, and Yiddish.

On Ella’s album 123s and ABCs children are introduced as well as possibly reacquainted with some well and some not so well known (at least by me) songs featuring numbers and the alphabet. My son knew a few of these to begin with and after a few more times of playing the album, he’s caught on to the new to him songs. What makes this album really neat too is that Ella is also accompanied by children singing along on a variety of tracks!

Lately, after being introduced to the Lego Batman game on the Wii she’s been quite interested in the superhero world. So I knew she’d be thrilled to dress up as his female counterpart Batgirl!
