The Trendy Tadpole {review}

I’ve been a fan of Trendy Tadpole for about a year now. In fact this is my second feature about this great t-shirt shop! I featured their trendy tee shirts for the modern baby, child and adult about a year ago. Then I was given the opportunity to review the cutest shirt my daughter has owned which reads ” Drool Monster”! As you can guess this sweet design featured a fun loving monster made out of, you guessed it, drool! If you’d like to see my daughter in that shirt, you can follow the link here!

Recently I was given the opportunity to review one of the adult t-shirts and I love it! As you can see in the picture on the right this shirt not only looks but fits great. The design I’m wearing features a mother elephant and her baby and reads I love you in Japanese. I am a fan of their entire Japanese inspired line because my grandma is Japanese making my father half which impacts on respecting and learning about the Japanese culture in my family.

Trendy Tadpole offers top quality when it comes to the wear of their shirts. All shirts are made on American Apparel which means they are durable, soft and sweatshop free!

Trendy Tadpole offers many witty designs and t. Shirts are available is sizes starting at 3-6m and many designs are also available in many adult sizes. I love that many of the designs are available in adult size because I think it’s really fun to match the family up!

Price: All apparel starts at $22.00 and would make great gifts for any occasion, especially baby showers!

Scars and Stilettos *blog tour*

About the Book!

Fear of being abandoned keeps 19-year-old Harmony Dust trapped in an abusive relationship. Tens of thousands of dollars in debt and struggling to get by, someone tells her how much money she can make as an exotic dancer. For the next 3 years, Harmony lives a double life as Monique, a dancer in a strip club.

“Scars and Stilettos” is Harmony’s stark, honest, & ultimately hopeful story of how God found her in that dark, noisy place & led her back out. She has since completed an MA in Social Welfare & now leads Treasures, an organization helping women in the sex trade discover their true worth & value. For more information about Harmony or her book please visit her website: http://www.scarsandstilettos.com.

“You will want to get a copy for every person you know… Once you start this book, you will not be able to put it down. You will laugh, you will cry, you will be encouraged, you will fall in love with God all over again.”

Holly Wagner, Author and Founder of GodChicks

“Harmony’s story is compelling evidence of how far the love of God reaches to heal broken lives and restore all that has been stolen. Scars and Stilettos is a must read for anyone who lives in despair and believes there is no way out. Harmony, as the founder of Treasures Ministries, has been a guest at Mercy Ministries to share her story with our residents, and the impact was great. Her life is now devoted to reaching out to those who are still living in the circumstances that she came out of, literally loving them to Christ. Harmony is living proof that in Christ, old things are passed away and all things are new.”

Nancy Alcorn, Founder of Mercy Ministries

“The thing that blows me away about Harmony’s story is that she showed back up. How easy would it be to never step foot in a strip club ever again. The pain, the memories, the past was all right there but she decided that this was not about her but the hundreds of women that remained in the clubs.”

Craig Gross, Founder of XXX Church

My Thoughts…

This book is a truly moving testimony poured out from a honest heart. I picked this story up in the morning hours and could not put it down! And with that being said, I had finished reading this book before the evening. This book is inspirational and moving story, that shows God’s loving grace and the fact that no matter how far you go, there’s always forgiveness in brokenness. I encourage everyone to pick up this story  full of hope, love, and purpose. Before warned that many parts of this book may be a little too graphic for some but I applaud the author in being honest and letting us know how it really is out there and what she went through.

My Husband’s Thoughts…

I put off this review for a bit because I was wanting to enjoy eating it too but my nausea during my first trimester of pregnancy pretty much prevented that. I didn’t even want to smell the food let along try it because I knew it would have a lot of flavor but I did get my husband to make it for himself and share the following thoughts!

Cooking the Wan Chai dish was simple. I opened the package and put the veggies and meat in a pan and warmed up the sauce in another pan. When that was ready I microwaved the rice, then put the rice and rest side by side in my wife’s bowl and the veggies and meat on top of the rice in my bowl. The food tasted pretty good! The rice was moist and the veggies and meat flavored just about right, not too heavy or light. Also since we are trying to eat healthier, we were glad to note no MSG in the ingredients. If I wanted to get some Chinese food to make at home at a reasonable price, Wan Chai Ferry is a good option for me to choose.

You can print a $1.00/1 Wanchaii Ferry coupon to take with you when you shop in the freezer section of your grocery store.
