Steven Curtis Chapman Family Tragedy

I just heard about the incident that happened to Steven Curtis Chapman’s family. It breaks my heart and I  cried when I read about it from a friend’s blog of mine. On Wednesday, his 5 year old daughter was hit and killed by the family SUV. Her brother was backing the vehicle down the driveway and didn’t see her. She was rushed to the hospital, but didn’t make it.  It must be so hard for their whole family right now and  we should be lifting them up in prayer.

Life means so much, it’s so precious and in a matter of moments, it can be taken away so quickly.  I think I’ve learned that even more now as a new parent to be ( 3 days left). Don’t take your time with loved ones for granted because you never know when they’ll be taken from you.  It goes to show you that everything we have is not our own.  God is gracious and through things like this, I hope someone is able to be ministered to in some way.

My stomach kinda looks like that beach ball! It’s Friday and still Melody is hanging on in there. I had my 39 week appointment yesterday and my Doctor said I am about 3cm dilated and still 90ish effaced. Still she can come at anytime. My husband and I went ahead and scheduled to have her induced on her due date ( Tuesday).  So we shall see if she stays in my tummy for that much longer.  I just finished seeing what needed cleaned and sanitized around the house and there wasn’t much for me to do.  I’m just really ready for my baby girl to be here!

Justin is planning on making some yummy Italian chicken on the grill tonight for dinner… so I am hoping I am still around for that. LOL…. I just finished eating half a watermelon and am quite full 🙂

Hanging in there… and if there’s no updates on here for a few days, that means my baby came!

The Waiting Game

It’s the waiting game for me. I turn 39 weeks pregnant tomorrow but I am pretty sure I could have my baby anytime now. I survived the record high temperatures of the weekend with almost grace…lol… No, I was completely miserable up until Saturday evening when a friend of my husbands gave us a AC unit which they no longer used or needed. Praise The Lord. I actually got a full night of rest Saturday night.

The contractions are still very on and off. Stronger yes… so strong a few times I was ready to go out the door to the hospital but to much ado, they stop and don’t occur again for awhile. I’m so ready for her to come out!

I had my baby shower get together with my life group and it was a lot of fun 🙂 Melody got lots of great little gifts which I am sure she will love!

Last night, my life group attended a showing of Lord Save us From Your Followers.. it’s main focus being and asking the question Why is the Gospel of Love Dividing America?” it’s A very fascinating the documentary so I recommend it to everyone to see.

Two weeks to go!

With Melody’s due date only two weeks away, we are getting very excited. We have about everything we need and more. I’ve been taking it super careful since on Sunday I had spill in the church parking a lot.  I was more traumatized than embarrassed if anything else. My husband had stopped quite suddenly on our way out of church and I tripped on him and fell forward! That goes to show you that pregnant women really don’t have balance.  I was okay and so was the baby.. I had just had a few scrapes and scratches. I will say I was really worried for awhile as I was having much much stronger contractions. Never more than three in and hour but they were lasting for quite sometime. They’ve since not but as regular but they’ve been quite stronger for sure.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I know I did! For mother’s day, I got a nice Japanese Cherry Blossom set from Bath and Body Works, a new pair of sandals from Kohls, A new leather Bible with my name on it ( good thing, I had been using my extreme teen Bible for the last 12 years), and a lovely dinner at Hakamoto restaurant on Saturday. 🙂

I also received a package for Melody over the weekend as well and they gifted her with lots of nice Carter clothes 3-6 months. 🙂 Thank you! Grandma Becky also gave us a nice baby calendar that we love lots!

In other news : We’ve got record high heats approaching this weekend! If weird weather makes babies come sooner… this might work… LOL
